What's new

Following 2016 potential draftees

Maker/Qi are my new guys at 42, might have to move up a bit to grab one. Brogdon/Zipser as 2nd choices (think that wing could be more easily addressed in free agency though).

Shouldn't be that hard to get Boston's #23, which is about where Jazz would need to be order to get Thon. He's going in the first. Boston has 8 total picks, 4 in the first. They are begging to unload some of those. Git er done, DL.

Sources: Charlotte's offering No. 22 - if team will take contract of Spencer Hawes or Jeremy Lamb. Hornets need space to re-sign free agents

Can take a chance on Lamb as a backup wing or get a shooting 5. Hawes is owed about 6mil per year for the next two years. Lamb is owed 7mil per year for the next 3 years.

Do it DL.

I would take hawes off their hands. That contract isn't too bad.

Several teams have entirely ruled Thon Maker out of the first round due to his age. Multiple sources believe Maker to be 21-23, not 19.

I feel like I've heard this story before. With Ibaka or Biyombo or somebody and they ended up not falling at all. I wouldn't be hopeful that he drops too much.

If the Jazz were to do this it would be for Hawes. Seems like a move they would be comfortable making.

I'm assuming we'll see some sort of trade like the proposed CHA trade for Lamb or Hawes, but if we stand pat I'd love to see them take the French kid Isaia Cordinier, Ron Baker out of WSU (likely with the last 2nd round pick), and maybe roll the dice on Qi. 2nd round is fun and the Jazz have a good history of finding gems.

I would do the Hawes deal... but I would change the offer to;

We take Hawes, their #22 and their unprotected '17.
We give them Burks.

That Charlotte deal is a no-brainer. If DL doesn't do that or get Philly or Boston's late first - considering Perrin said there is essentially no difference between 14-29 - that means the jazz simply don't want rookies on the team.

Yeah, especially now with Hill who can play the 2 I would do this. However, I doubt very seriously they would leave the pick unprotected.

Has nothing to do with location.

I know, but they blocked selling to who would be a very good owner (and now is for the Clippers) and sold instead to a group of owners thrown together to keep them in a city that only kind of wants them, and now with that new group of owners they are possibly the worst run organization in the NBA.
