Following 2016 potential draftees

You're remembering correctly.

I've come to find, pundits jump to those type of conclusions mostly based on what they think of just a handful of top-shelf talents... While writing off 5-star talents like D'Angelo Russell, that they think don't have 1-and-done talent.. There always seems to be more elite talent than they've accounted for.. no?

Been saying the players are getting bigger, faster, stronger at a younger age, which is a theory many like to reject... There's plenty of recent examples the past few years, Rudy's one of the best.

I'm pretty sure these drafts will all be loaded, thru 2020.. In that time the theory about these 'next generation' players will be proven emphatically correct.. ( check out the video in my latest post in the 2020 thread)

They sleep on the foreign players.. The crop of international talent born in the years '94 all the way to '00 looks chock loaded with talent. So I'd say it's tough to call, I'd er on the side of giving the classes the benefit of the doubt, rather than thinking a perceived weak or mediocre will be that way.

Plus there's been a player from Weber State, Lehigh, Louisiana-Lafayette, and Murray St. in the lottery the last 4 years, those players obviously weren't taken into account when those determinations were made...

The HS class of 2016 is unique though, there's an obvious overload of depth in the class, there's seriously like 125+ players, that are of top-75 quality, that's no overstatement..

2017 is gonna be loaded. 2018 is gonna be loaded, 2019 is gonna be loaded and 2020 is going to be loaded.

Calling 2020 5 years ahead of time -- BEAT THAT PKM!

Charles 'The Big Ticket' Bassey as the #1 pick. Lemme also predict he gets a UK Scholarship offer several years in advance of it happening.

This Big on Miami who outplayed Poeltl, Tonye Jekiri, ranked as the 74th best Sr by DX. Looks like he might be able to sneak into the 2nd round. He's kinda Festus Ezeli-ish.

Poeltl with a monster bounceback game though today. Looking much more like a lottery pick. Someone should post those highlights when their made.

Miami looks to be in mid-season form already. Their obviously going to crash the top-25 in a major way.

Few good games on the schedule tomorrow. Gotta love these early season tournaments.

St. Johns @ Vanderbilt
Wake Forest @ Indiana
LSU @ Marquette
UNLV @ UCLA

Does everyone here still think that Ulis is too small to go in the first round?

Just saw today he's got a little brother Ahron, who can handle the rock similarly.. He's in the HS class of like 2020, and he's sure to be a big-time recruit(Not saying he's the next Cole Anthony..) He doesn't look much shorter than Tyler already.

There isn't much precedent for a player of his size going in the 1st round, so I still lean towards no. The facts are he is going to have to have an insane season paired with an insane year from UK to even have a chance to go in the 1st. Not saying it's impossible, but I think the odds are he doesn't.

The one thing that might help him is the success of Isiah Thomas is having. He was the last pick in the second round.

Ellenson vs Simmons tonight in a matchup of guys who should go well before we draft, but interesting nonetheless.

Dinos Mitoglu is a very draftable player in the 2nd round, born in '96. He's a 6'10 Sophomore faceup PF from Wake Forest. He's crushing Indiana right now on ESPN 2, making it look like a polished Euro player vs some HS kids tbh. Wake's leading scorer the past 2 seasons, Miller-Mcintyre is out injured.

18 and 7 for Dinos in the first half..

Bill Walton and Jon Sciambi has gotten chippy during the broadcasts. Walton is still basically impossible to work with.

Also keep an eye on these players in the LSU-MU matchup;

Marquette - Henry Ellenson, Luke Fischer, Haanif Cheatham

LSU - Ben Simmons, Antonio Blakeney, Tim Quarterman, Brandon Sampson and Elbert Robinson

Tom Crean's a dunce. Thats an injured Wake Forest team they just lost to. His offensive-defensive subs during crunchtime, caused all sorts of unnecessary issues with their rebounding and rim protection, and Bryant Crawford took advantage, those plays were way too easy for Wake in the closing possessions though.

Mainly due to subbing 18 year old Thomas Bryant out. Bryant didn't look like the 1st round pick Givony has billed him to be either. He's a bit mechanical, not exactly quick off his feet.

They went out letting Yogi Farrell dribble the shotclock low and chucking up a floater as their offense, yet again.

He deserves to lose his job, honestly. For all that $$ they pay him, IU fans deserve better.

Simmons with 21 points, 20 rebounds, 7 assists tonight.

Yeah, but Murray and Skai will be drafted ahead of him. Stop thinking. Moron.

Did you watch the game? He had the chance to take the shot on the final possession, down 1 twice in the final seconds, and elected to kick the ball out for a contested 3, several feet behind the college line.

LSU couldn't guard the rim for ****.

I want to see Ben Simmons shoot from 3.. is that asking too much?? The season just started. I know what Skal and Murray can do, Ben's more hype to me. I think his measurements have been overstated. I think he's 6'9" flat, not 6'10", he looked an inch shorter than Ellenson.

Ellenson's footwork/shooting/handle on the perimeter is going to get him drafted in the top-10.. He's a lock for the lottery if he continues to play like tonight.

Luke Fischer was living at the rim, maybe he's not a 2nd round pick, I wouldn't be surprised if he was though, he looks big and athletic, he's shooting like 75& from the field. Just hope he stays healthy, and I think we'll see him in the NBA.

Great showing from Tim Quarterman. Not so much from Blakeney who missed all of his 3's, the SG position remains the big mystery position in this draft.

Amped for UNLV and UCLA tonight. Any Predictions?

We need to trade Gobert for Simmons, we just need to do it.

I would hate to see Gobert go, he is such a fun player to watch when our team is defending well. He is so frustrating to watch on offense though with how he kills our offense and struggles to finish (or sometimes even catch) the dishes Burks/Hayward serve him.

A Favors/Simmons front-court would be amazing offensively.

Yeah, with Exum in the backcourt, that shooting would be lethal.

-6 3's for Mykhailiuk last night for Kansas in 19 minutes. by far his highest scoring game for KU thus far.

-Deyonta Davis' per 36 #'s are gonna look juicy at the end of the year if he keeps playing like this.. 16/5/5blks in 18 minutes, 7/10 from the field. He's the best prospect on MSU IMO.

-Take a look at Tom Creans face after the loss. LOL. Looks like a guy about to lose his job - https://vine.co/v/iz6LH9DLmlL

Dwayne Bacon to me should definetly be on the radar for the Jazz pick. His #'s thru 5 games are basically the #'s he was putting up in HS.. Dwayne is listed at 6'7", he's tough, and powerfully built, I'd say he looks the part of an NBA player already.. he's also hyper-competetive and has ice in his veins, he's clutch and wants to take the big shot.

Stats so far are great.. 20.6ppg on 58% from the field, 47% from 3(3.4 attempts), only taking 12.8 FGA's and he's drawing almost 6 FTA's per game, 6.4 rebounds per, 1 assist and 1.2 steals. I've been hyping Bacon here since he was rated 4-stars and in the 40's by some services, he's absolutley blown up his value since then, he doesn't seem to be slowing down at all. Miami will get plenty of hype after this past week, and deservedly so. FSU is flying under the radar though, that backcourt, with Rathan-Mayes and Malik Beasley is no joke

- Near quadruple double for Kris Dunn last night.

- Taurean Prince with a very impressive stat line last night in 25mins: 20pts 9 boards, 7 assists, on 5/7 from 3 for Baylor.. He was seen as a prototype 3 and D player, (i'd say in the mold of Demarre Carroll) Good to see him passing the ball so well, 4.8 assists per game so far, A storyline worth keeping an eye on.

- Not a good night offensively for Dedric Lawson of Memphis in a loss to UT Arlington. His peripheral stats were great though. Damn versatile player, he'll measure and workout well for NBA teams.

- 6'11" USC Freshman, Chimezie Metu has registered 16 blocks in 67 minutes so far this year.. He's on NBA teams radars for sure. Obviously USC's best recruit this year.

- NC State loses again.... Cat Barber hasn't made a 3 yet. They get mopped on the boards... Again.. They should totally be starting BeeJay Anya. It's retarded. They get what they deserve. Those 3 missed FT's by noted sharpooter Maverick Rowan ended up coming back to bite them.

- Someone needs to put SDSU's Malik Pope on a milk-carton, or call in a missing persons report. His stats this year are just unconscionable, I wonder how Jeff Goodman and Chad Ford feel about him as a top-5, top-10 or lottery pick now. He's not starting, avraging 5.6ppg on dreadful %'s, he'll get going, nightmare start to the season though. Doesn't deserve to be mocked in the 1st round at this point, that'd just be giving him the benefit of the doubt.

- Thomas Welsh at UCLA does it again. He's definitely one of the more slept on Sophomores out there. Draftexpress has him at #31 in their Sophomore rankings. Thats a joke. He's shooting 71% from the field and 100% from the line so far this year. Thomas is better and slightly taller than his younger bro Henry Welsh, who's a HS Sr this year and a solid 4-star recruit.

-Patrick McCaw is legit!!22nd ranked Sophomore by DX is way too low. I'd take him over Joe Ingles or the Jazz mess of fringe-nba talent at wing, in a heartbeat.

Another day of good games on the schedule from afternoon til the wee hours of the morning. I've got a crockpot full of spiced hard cider to take care of.
