Following 2016 potential draftees

Interested to know. Based off of just watching the Jazz so far this year. Which Position do ya's think the 1st round pick will be?

A versatile 4 or 5. Bender would be a beautiful addition.

I'd add that if we miss out on the playoffs and end up with say the 12th pick, I'd strongly consider packaging a lot to get him. Our 12th pick, a 2018 protected 1st, OKC 1st, a bunch of ends, Burke. That may be enough to move up to 5-6 to get him. Probably more like to 7-8 but I'd love him. That said, a lot depends on the next 70 games and how well (or not) Hayward, Burks and Hood play.

Poeltl would also be a great addition. He'd solidify our three bigs rotation. He, along with Lyles developing, and Exum coming back from injury could really, really round out the team.

Exum-Burke
Hood-Burks
Hayward-Ingles
Favors-Lyles
Gobert-Poeltl

I really like that squad though I would (am) still be concerned about perimeter shooting and who our go-to player would be.

You cant play Poetl and Gobert together though. The best fit still remains an athletic PF who can either shoot it or can score.

But you can play him with Favors or Lyles.

And I mentioned Bender first because he's the best fit for need imo.

Stephen Zimmerman is a damn good fit with this Jazz roster. He's 6'11½" listed at 240 lbs and just turned 19. 2/2 so far from 3 this year.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7FoyfF42GAs - Heres all of his made FG's in the first 4 games.

Not trying to hype up how a Lyles-Zimmerman front court would look defensively, but they might be able to hold their own vs small-ball lineups.. and obviously Favors and Gobert allow you to mix and match vs certain opposition.

Zimmerman and Lyles off the bench could potentially add a dimension to the Jazz next year by throwing line-ups with 5 players capable of moving the ball and shooting it from 3 off the bench, I like that look.

7'2" Jonathan Jeanne shoots 3's too, and so does Zhou Qi... Jeanne is actually probably more of a PF at this point in NBA terms, and he's taller than Rudy, he's also got some really nice agility, and some suprising dexterity with the ball in his hands, he can really run too, again much of this applies to Zhou Qi too he's 4/5 from 3 thru 8 games.. Qi's the best shot blocker of the bunch too..

Zimmerman could be a more complete version of Meyers Leonard.

Nah thats definitely underselling him. He's already that, and several years younger..

I'd say he's like a much better version of Andray Blatche. Better build, better go-to moves, vastly superior BBIQ, etc.

Draftexpress took him off the 2016 draft, but of course this early in the year it does not mean much. For around the 15th pick Zimmerman would look pretty good. Only saw a couple of minutes of him yesterday. Perhaps a better version of Myers Leonard is a good comp?

That's what I think.

I mean, Leonard has all the physical tools. He has good shooting form, he is athletic/mobile for his size, and he has good length. The problem is that he isn't a natural player (on either end) or smooth with the ball, but Zimmerman appears to have those intangibles and instincts.

I've noticed people like to compare white players to white players, and international players to other international ones, you see that stuff on ESPN. I think Zimmerman is certainly a player who should be able to transcend these foolish types of racial stereotypes.

Zimmerman should be compared to a bigger version of a PF imo. Meyers Leonard to me implies gimmicky, so I don't like it. Zimmerman has some star power.

I see some elements to his game that are a bit like Derrick Favors.. His skillset's certainly more broad based than most comparisons you'll find, that's why he wont fall out of the lottery, and why I think he's a better prospect than Poeltl.

You were one of the Aaron Gordon blow-hards on this site.. right?? Also you've already jumped to the conclusion Ben Simmons is the best, without ever seeing him shoot 1 3pointer.

No, I wasn't a Gordon "blow-hard," but I definitely would have taken him over your boy, Vonleh. Still would. When Player A is not only more athletic, but has a higher BBIQ, and has a more aggressive personality than Player B, it's not a hard choice.

And yeah, I predicted that Simmons would be the #1 pick before seeing him shoot a single 3 pointer. I'm crazy like that.

Gordon is a bench player, he's a glorified Trevor Booker, Dante is a much better prospect in todays NBA.. Vonleh has potential to be a good starter if he can continue to gain polish, it's early. Teams let Aaron Gordon shoot 3's as expected.

You think if the 76ers get the #1 pick they should take him, ignore their depth at guard and play Simmons next to Saric??

You think if the Lakers get the #1 pick they should take Simmons to play next to Randle?

I could see the Celtics taking him #1 if the Nets pick hits pay dirt.

Simmons is much bigger/stronger, more athletic vs college opponents, he should dominate. It doesn't mean he's better than the top 7-footers in the draft, I really don't think he's that much better than Bender or even Zhou Qi.
