Homer alert: I'm hoping Floor-burn-meistro Ron Baker (Wichita State) falls to the Jazz with a later pick.
Booker is our only expiring contract out of 14 players next year.
That's 13.
You would assume we are going to draft 1 first rounder, making 14 contracts. You would also assume (though maybe we shouldn't) we would make one free agent signing of some sort of veteran. That would be 15. Not really a lot of room for draft picks on this roster unless we cut Johnson/Withey.

This is the pick. all he's gotta do now is shoot well for teams in workouts.. You can mix&match Hood, Luwawu, Hayward, Burks and even Jingling Joe seamlessly.
Hayward and Luwawu present an interesting(improved) defensive look, especially vs a team trying to play multiple smaller guards..
Rich Mans Thabo Sefolosha, I had this player comp right early on..
I'm still cool with them taking all french players.. Infact sign me up for Luwawu in the 1st and Coordiner, Kaba and Cornelie the 2nd - that'd be highway robbery.
Which is why it's ideal to have a bunch of 2nd round picks.. So they can coerce multiple international players to declare and remain in the draft pool, because their positioned to make (and keep) promises. (This includes college players to be stashed overseas, like Olivier Hanlan... sorta)
Nik Slavica in the 2nd round could be an interesting prospect for Utah to stash.. He's quite athletic/twitchy and lifts off the ground quickly. and I'd guess sports a wingspan over 7', wouldn't be surprised if he's still growing either.. born in the summer of '97 would make him one of this drafts youngest. there will be players his age getting drafted for years to come.. He's certainly got plenty of defensive potential..
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k3PBvUcE1Us Here's the highlights from his outburst the other day. He's kind of rigid in half-court offense, he can get to the rack though and he's clearly an NBA level athlete defensively, which makes him an intriguing prospect at this stage.
I also can't help but think that the Jazz might prioritize a C to stash(Possibly Qi, Jeanne[who's more of a 7'2" PF] or even Zubac in the 1st).. They had Tomic stashed, traded for a stashed Pleiss, so now there's kind of a void. I like the idea of paying for another developmental C project like that, it's $$$ well spent for an NBA team. Kinda hoping that continues - 7'3" Yousoupha Fall!!

I'm officially on the Ingram > Simmons train. Would you rather have Durant or Griffin? I'd rather have Durant, especially on this team. If I was some teams, I'd probably go with Simmons (like the Wolves), but others I'd go with Ingram (Sixers/Hawks/Lakers).

lmao... Ingram is nothing lie Durant, First off your talking about 3 inch heigh difference.. Ingram doesn't hve great lateral quickness either and I a pretty crappy efender at thi moment. He is a top 5 pick but number 1?? No gm would take him over Simmons. This is comical
I watched him in international play this last summer and he showed why he will never pay in nba. Doesn't have the ball handling to run the point and his shot was getting blocked on the regular... Baker is a European payer plain and simple and not a top tier league either.. Baker needs Van Vleet. Notice how when Fred ws out Baker couldn't carr the team or run the team... He is nice college player but he has ZERO chance of plaing in the nba
Johnson too I thought?
He'll play in the NBA. He might not stick, but he is going to get a shot.
Ingram measured 6'8 w/o shoes in 2015, before his Freshman year at Duke.
Durant measured 6'9 w/o shoes after his Freshman year at the combine.
Igram has a 7'3 wingspan, Durant has a 7'4.75 wingspan.
Ingram has a 9'1.5 standing reach, Durant has a 9'2 standing reach.
So much different in size, you're right. *sarcasm*
He is 18. Most 18 year olds aren't done growing.Durant is 6foot11 at this moment so your just going assume Ingram isn't done growing?
Do you have a link because ****ty hoopshype says otherwise? Shamsports is good but the site's contracts part is down.
I think this guy is worth a look in the 2nd round.... reminds me a bit of Isiah Thomas.
Remember his name: "Malik Newman"
He apparently turned down an offer to go to UK.
