Following 2016 potential draftees

This week I am putting together my big board of Big10 prospects for the league.. Ill post it here. The big10 has some pretty good prospects at the moment. Hell Purdue has 2 big men who should go round 1 this year and another big who could be a first round pick in a couple years.. Some solid rotation guys for the league are playing the Big10 this year. Even Iowa has 2 guys who could be solid players. I think Peter Jok ends up as a starter for a team
Look forward to seeing the big board.

Let me say this to those who doubt Buffy Hields game... He is shooting 52 percent from 3 land with close to 8 attempts per game. 90 percent free throw shooter... 6foot5inch 215 pounds with a 6foot9 wingspan... He has proven he can play. SOme of you are putting way to much into the fact he is a senior... He can contribute right away and be a starter in the league for 10 years. This draft is going see some upperclassmen drafted in lottery. This trend is going to continue also.. You are getting close to a finish product with Buddy and you know what you are getting. With youngsters you are gambling and hoping the pan out and a lot of times they don't... As isaid before I believe the 2 best players out of this draft class is going be Dunn and Hield.. Simmons is just overrated at this point for me...

WRT Hield being a senior, Steph was a junior. I'm thinking GSW doesn't regret that choice.

I'd hate to be the team that has to use a high lottery pick on Skal. You're drafting a terrible basketball player and just praying he surprises and reaches his potential. 90/10 be will be a bust, but teams in that 8-12 range won't be able to pass on the outside chance he becomes really good.

I love Hield... I don't see how that guy isn't successful. I think he rises big but if not I'd love to get him. Skal is a monster project and if he fell to us at 15 then the risk reward is certainly there.

I do think there are a couple good two guards in Valentine and Hield that I think could contribute immediately and may make an Alex burks trade more palatable for me.

Skal definitely isnt terrible. I've seen some great things from him. He just has some motor issues at the time. Players can fix that though. Andre Drummond had his motor questioned coming out of college and look at him now.

That being said though..... holy **** he has gotten 5 rebounds in the last 5 games, or 5 rebounds in 64 minutes.

Hield was also successful in his sophomore and junior years so I'm not worried about the senior thing. He is killing the three and is able to get a ton off... Also seems like a winner and a good kid. I like guys that are happy to be out there.

Damian Lillard was a senior.

Yeah, that wasn't fair to call him terrible. His production just isn't very good and I question whether he really likes basketball all that much - I don't see the passion which makes me wonder if he'll ever really get there.

He makes Jeremy Evans look fat. I worry he takes too long to develop and doesn't provide anything when he is cheap... Again I'd be happy if he fell to us at 15.

I'd take Hield over Kris Dunn but I've only watched him a couple times and browsed draftexpress but guys that are volume shooters that make a high percentage will have some level of success in the NBA... No way that guy is a bust.

He definitely isnt that skinny. I think he has a pretty good body considering his age. He weighed in at 225 this year.

As I pointed out with Trey Burke back then, sometimes I just worry about drafting the National Player of the Year (unless he's a freshman), and Hield is certainly going to win that award.

There's an unnecessary premium placed on those players.

He's not Steph Curry or Damien Lillard, and IMO shouldn't even be brought up with those players, they're PG's. Buddy Hield is like a Brad Beal type, he's a SG.
I don't see how he can't be at least JJ Reddick on the low end. Very similar roles in college as seniors, but Hield is a far superior athlete, a little bigger and much longer.

Bradley beal was the comp I was afraid to throw out. I think great shooting is such a weapon and he has that in spades.

Bonus points for cross race comparison.

On the subject of Hield, forgetting for a second about NBA projections, right now he is getting 26 ppg on 53% FGs, 52% 3pt and 90% FTs. I'll go out on a limb and say there has never been a major college player finish the season with 20+ ppg, and a 50/50/90. Hield is more than than just a good shooter, he might be the best shooter college basketball has seen since the three point line.

Glen Rice is the nearest to Hield I could find - 26 ppg on 50/50/83.

people use age to much to downgrade a player. Look at Lillard. He was a 4 year player has been productive in the league for a couple years already and has a lot of basketball ahead of him still... With what Curry is doing this year teams are going to value these shooters more then a an athletic prospect.... Speaking of 4 year player so was Draymond Green. Wasn't Klay also a 4 year player? Maybe it was 3 year. Spurs historys show they have been known to get these 4 year college kiids . How is that team?

The Jazz will probably finish with the 8th seed and pick in the mid teens. I'd be down to draft Hield that low if he were available. We need sharpshooters, and Hield is averaging 50% from 3 on 8 attempts per game.
