Following potential 2012 draftees

It is quite unbelievable that Sidney could go from best player in the nation as a HS sophomore (and deserved of that ranking) to undrafted ..

I actually feel bad for him for some reason. He was treated like a rockstar by everyone including his parents. No accountability in his life. Now he's an adult and should know better, but he had no real guidance.

I don't really. If he was in shape he would be a first round pick, if he actually cared he would be lottery, if he actually practiced hard he would be a top 5 pick.

The Jazz should sit down with Sidney and his agent and tell them that thy have interest in him when he is undrafted. Bring him to camp and see what he can do.

It was pre-destined. ;)

Sidney is one kid that I don't think anyone is going to get through to. I think he's at a point that he wants one contract, cash in a little, and then fade away. That attitude will likely assure he falls short of even that goal.

I'm sure you are right. A camp invite could be beneficial though.

Yep .. you never know. By the way, he was highest on UK when he was around 14/15 years old and made a few unofficial visits and played some pick-up. He was unbelievable. He played like a 6'9 PG. Could do it all. He was downright astonishingly good. Then he blew up ... the wrong way.

Sadly, his parents felt going to Cali would be best for his 'stardom' and it all went downhill from there .. chasing marketability over sticking to the game.

As far as Sidney, I wouldn't draft him, but if he went undrafted I would give him a camp invite. I'd put him on the shortest leash possible concerning his attitude and conditioning. If he didn't show consistent improvement and effort, he would get cut.

I could agree more. Big reward small risk.
