Following potential 2012 draftees

Funny watching the video he kind of reminded me of a poor mans Garnett.

Offensively, yeah, I guess you could compare him to Garnett. Sadly he isn't on the same plane defensively, though he has the "tools" (I hate when I hear that) to be a good defender.

I see him as an Ibaka/Jason Thompson back-up big who could be ideal with Favors and Kanter.

Nothing like Ibaka. Surprisingly given his supreme athletic ability and size, he isn't much of a shot blocker. I attribute his defensive woes to being the leader in MPG for the SEC and being way way overplayed though. He does have a natural scoring feel around the basket, which should make him a great pick n roll player if he can land on a team with a PG.

Can't say much about Thompson, but I think he is a pretty average athlete.

Wow, Cy, I feel that sold him way short. Not a shot blocker, defensive woes, no scoring feel ... nice pitch there big guy .. glad to see sales isn't in your future.

So when you were calling him a 6'11" version of Millsap, you were what----putting down Millsap?

Okay, where would you rank him next to what you know of Larry Sanders?

The only problem with not taking GS first proposal is if they make the lottery and then move up to top 6. Not likely but it would suck. I would have come back with taking off the protection/top 3 plus their second round pick #35.

I always liked that, but from what I understand, it was never in the plans. Only thing I can figure is too much youth?

Bear with me, but I would think that from KOC's point of view, he's much more interested in a chance at a guy with potential to be GREAT. Since we don't really know what we have (Burks is a big ???, as is Kanter, and even Hayward), it's hard to draft a player for a specific role. I think they just figured that a 25% shot at PJ3, Barnes, or Lillard (or whatever you could move a pick for) had a much better chance of actually improving the team in the long run. Time will tell, but I can understand that logic personally.
