Following potential 2012 draftees

I understand that you could very easily be viewed as biased. The reason that I am asking for videos on these kids is because I want to educate myself. Any and all information helps.

I am certainly biased, both as a UK fan and a Jazz fan. I do, however, try to be as objective as possible .. though I'll be the first to admit that it's sometimes difficult when you get to know one group of kids and only see the others in game situations. I started this thread for people like us, that enjoy the process of watching these guys grow and attempting to predict how their games will translate to the talent level and rigorous schedule of the NBA.

Again, thank you for this information. I don't have the time for this that I used to. I know it is selfish but any ground work that others can do, I will gladly take it.

Follow the link and then click on VIDEOS, then on the right side click the UK bb video. You'll see;

Teague feed to Davis at .04
Gilchrist with the rebound and outlet pass to Teague for layup at .20
Gilchrist finishing in the lane at .30 (Cal says no one in the country can stop Gillie in the lane)
Teague at .50
Gilchrist at 1:00
Block by Davis leading to a score by Gilchrsist at 1:05
Gilchrist to Teague for the score at 1:20
Gilchrist to Jones for the score at 1:30
Teague with the hustle, steal, and pass to Gilchrist for the slam at 2:14

What about the goofy looking white kid? You never give him any love.

I actually really like Kyle Wiltjer. He's just not relevant for the 2012 lottery. His nickname is 'The Waterfountain' because he can hit from anywhere. He got the nickname at the Boost Mobile Elite in Venice Beach where he won co-MVP. He's been called by scouts as a mix of Keith Van Horn and Kevin McHale. He'll have a very nice year, but it will be next year before he'll see enough minutes to get on the nat'l radar. He was the 18th ranked player in the nation last year.

Isn't he the only other 6'10 or above player besides Davis though? Surely he will get a ton of minutes at center.

There's also Vargas at 6'11. He pretty much sucks though. I think Kyle can get 14 to 18 minutes, so it's not chump minutes, but he will be overshadowed.
Speaking of large shadows, what's your expectations for Sidney this year?

Periodical domination followed by periods of him being out of breath.

Not to be a downer here, but I wonder how much longer this lockout needs to go before all these stellar players decide not to come out this year. I guess we have some runway still.

Good question. I believe a LOT (HUGE amount) will stay and play if it appears they'll have to sit like this past years crop.

Talking about players that will be there when the jazz draft don't forget to keep you eyes on Memphis' Adonis Thomas. He is a lot like gilchrist in he is a goodvrebounder that likes to play defense. He is getting more consistent with his shot. Worth watching.

If the jazz do go sf and pg in the first there are a couple of players that I like in the second round that are worth looking at. As I said before I hope the slide some

Tyler - but bigs are always over valued but I dont think hi talents translate to a first round pick.

Jeff Taylor - he is a do everything type of player reminds me a lot og Wes Matthews.

Miles plumlee - why not he could play some center not a shot blocker but he seems a jazz type of player.

I am sure there will be some more players as the season goes on.

I have greatly appreciated this thread. Good info and discussion and gives me a good spot to start from in checking out these prospects.

Very good to hear. Stay tuned. There will be another update (likely tomorrow) after tonights games. I'll be coming here to hear how the Jazz game went and to update on the draft watchees.
