we might lose the GSW pick this year but it is looking more and more like the Jazz will keep theirs. Dont want to be a defeatist just a realist.

I'm not too worried. They're what? Seventh worst right now? And they've been missing Curry practically the whole season.
chad ford put this about Q miller
Baylor freshman Quincy Miller got off to a hot start for the Bears before taking a backseat to Perry Jones III once he returned to the team following a six-game suspension. Since Jones returned, Miller hadn't scored more than 15 points in a game until he broke out of his shell two Saturdays ago versus Oklahoma State. Miller had the best game of his career against Missouri on Saturday, scoring 29 points on 12-for-17 shooting. With Jones playing the wallflower of late, Miller seems more content and more comfortable being the go-to scorer for Baylor. His athleticism also seems to be improving as he continues to recover from an ACL tear last year. If Miller can start playing like this on a nightly basis, he could move himself back into the Top 10 by the end of the season.
Talk about a love/hate article. I want Miller to get better but I also don't want him to get so good that everyone wants him.
My guess is he ends up around 8 or 9 on most big boards by the end of the season. This is also where the GS pick will likely land. Hopefully it all works out.
I love your optimism. I would prefer it if the Jazz reached a little for him. If he was sitting at 11-13 I would like that more.
What's the scoop on Miller defensively? I don't want any lazy-*** dudes here.
Quincy Miller
6'9 freshman forward
* Shot creation: Skilled 6'9 forward with a 7'4 wingspan and excellent ball-handling skills for size. Still recovering from serious ACL injury suffered in high school, but quickness and length make him nearly unstoppable at college level. Creates driving lanes with threat of perimeter jumper and can pull-up and finish with high release point from every part of the floor. Averaging 12.9 points on 49.7 percent shooting as a freshman while attempting 4.2 free throws a game.
* Defense: Uses length to make up for lack of bulk on the interior and contest shots on the perimeter. Still not totally comfortable cutting on injured knee; if recovery continues, could be an All-Defensive SF at the next level. Averaging 0.7 blocks and 0.8 steals a game this year.
* Outside shot: For a pure shooter, the goal is to shoot at least 40 percent from the three-point line, 50 percent from the field and 90 percent from the free-throw line. As a freshman, Miller is at 40/49/77.
* Rebounding: Smart player who uses length extremely well, averaging 5.0 rebounds a game this season. Can be pushed around by stouter opponents with lower centers of gravity and could stand to add 10-15 pounds of muscle.
* Passing: Excellent passer out of the post who can read double teams and find the open man. Not given a lot of chances to be a primary offensive option in Waco as a freshman, averaging 1.6 assists and 2.2 turnovers a game.
* Best case: Five-tool 6'9+ perimeter player capable of effortlessly creating offense for himself and teammates while defending multiple positions -- Tracy McGrady.
* Worst case: Lack of athleticism makes it difficult to create shot efficiently at the next level and keeps him on the perimeter -- Mike Dunleavy.
Miller to me has zero lift. The set shot he does over and over will not work in the NBA. Maybe it's the knee but for. Player that's listed 6'9" he looks like he wouldn't be able to finish at the rim, ala Kanter right now. Haven't watched too much of him so I may be way off but just an observation.
Since many here have warmed up to the idea of Rivers as our possible PG of the future, here's a nice college mixtape of him.
