Following potential 2012 draftees

Rivers seems like a streaky shooter. His assists are low, and his Assist/TO ratio is less than 1.0. I'm also wondering how much of his attack game will translate to the NBA.

Miller's only real question mark, as far as I'm concerned, is his drive. Not worried, at all, about his athleticism/natural talent.
I think he'll be a great pro.

Rivers is more of a gut feel that I think he'll be very good as well .. not because of what we're necessarily seeing right now .. just a hunch.

Question off the cuff: Does Brad Beal compare at all to James Harden?

Beal is smooth shaven.

Actually, I think this is decent comparison. For the record, I usually hate comparing players .. it's just hard not to do it. This is a pretty good one, imo. Having said that, I want to see Beal start hitting his 3's in college before I get too excited about him doing it in the NBA. I think he well.

Well, I'm wondering if Beal could have a similar impact in the league. Harden was known as a mature, well-rounded SG in college who wasn't explosive and not really outstanding in any one category. He became a 6th man, and I assume he still is. He plays hard. I'm not that psyched about Hardin to be honest, but I'm just trying to get a read on what Beal's potential impact is. I'm not that excited about Beal right now either.

I think I'd rather have Jeremy Lamb than Beal right now.

Boy, Russel Westbrook went for 28/6/11 tonight. I wonder if there's a player like him in the upcoming draft. Doesn't look like it.

Back on Beal .. he's hitting only 42% from the floor (33% from three) and he averages more to's than assists. Great rebounder .. fwiw.

In high school he was a prolific scorer and averaged 50% from 3 .. so the potential is certainly there. I'm still waiting to see it.

I see both as a better shooting, less athletic versions of Westbrook. Rivers has an edge to him, while Beal seems more mature.

Yep, agree. That's why I'm not sleeping on Rivers. He has a tude about him that won't let him be anything but the best. Will he be the best? No, but his drive and moxy will make him a value pick if he goes 12 or lower, imo.

He has the same moxy that DWill had about him. The same moxy that this team seems to be sorely lacking.

I would love if the Jazz could get Miller and a talented guard.

Here's my draft board for the Jazz right now:
1 Drummond
2 Davis
3 Miller
4 Barnes
5 Kidd-Gilchrist
6 Robinson
7 Marshall
8 J.Lamb
9 Wroten
10 PJIII
11 Ross
12 Beal
13 Rivers
14 T. Jones
15 Leonard/Moultrie

I'm not sure what the Jazz would do with Sullinger. He'd be redundant with Kanter and Favors and is too good to come off the bench. Someone would have to be traded.

Thought that's what you would say but wasn't sure because the same could be said for TJones, Leonard, and Moultrie. I think at around #8 any team has to take Sullinger as BPA.

Moultire is 6'11 and athletic though. I think he could end up being the 6'11 Millsap.

I like Quincy Miller the more I see him play. He is smooth. Does anyone have highlights of him before his injury? I heard concerns about his work ethic. Are there any off the court issues? Personally, I think Miller is definitely in my top 5 on the draft board for the Jazz. I am not that concerned about his lift considering he has great length and effortless release. If he is a willing passer and can shoot from the outside then I hope he is available. Right now when the Jazz play in/out I cringe when our SG/PG/SF takes the shot.

As far as Rivers goes, I am not sold on him being a passing PG. He seems like he is a ball-hog and forces a lot of shots.
