Following potential 2012 draftees

You are correct concerning the tempos of both teams, fwiw.

@Catchall: I think Wroten has a world of talent. I am concerned, that in the three years I've watched him, he has not gotten markedly better. Also concerned about a guy that is shooting under 55% from the line and under 20% from the college line and against collegiate defenders. I certainly think he can be very good. I just think we need to try to draft someone that can shoot, please.

I'm sold on his passing, driving and defense. I think he'll learn to shoot better. There are some extensive clips on YouTube highlighting UW games. I'll post a few links.

Star potential. Makes big plays. Is just a freshman. Can drive and score at will in single coverage. Gifted passer. NBA athlete.

As for Wroten, Cyrone and Catchall have discussed the range of his potential and I wanted to *** one other tidbit ..

Washington has played 2 ranked teams all year. Against Duke (best team, by far, they've played) he scored a very impressive 23 points in only 24 minutes. On the other hand, he had 0 assists and 5 TO's .. and fouled out. Combo guard, period.

*add - haha

I just wanted to add something about Miller. I really likes the fact that he used his size and started posting up his man down low. He didn't rely on athleticism or quickness to get his shot, just his size. Quickness and athleticism go away eventually, but size doesn't. He moved up a lot in my potential Jazz list. I would say #4 or so.

He definitely has a nice post game. He has Carmello's game in Kevin Durant's body (not as tall of course).

Miller can be frustrating in that he doesn't go 100% all the time .. games or practice. He has the upside to be #1 player in this draft, though.

I guess that is true, but I also think just how his game looks. He has a relaxed smoothness that looks like he is playing slow at times, but I think that's just the way he operates.

Here are the names that I don't have "that warm feeling inside" when I think about them being members of the Jazz. In no particular order:
John Henson
Terrance Jones (Sorry PKM)
Tyler Zeller
Patric Young
Kendall Marshall
Mason Plumlee
Mike Moser

I went 8-20. Admittedly there are some that I have watched next to nothing on. Others are on this list because of the lack of need.

I am still not sold on Marshall. I know that I will get a bunch of Neg rep for that comment because of the love on this forum for him but I have a lot of concerns. First, his lack of a jump shot kills me. Every time I watch Harris take a long range shot I get sick inside. Marshall can certainly see the floor better than Harris but I believe that Harris is a faster PG than Marshall will ever be. The second biggest worry I have for Marshall is his teammates. Nearly every game that UNC goes into that have the better player at every position. That is not going to be the case on the NBA. I hope for his sake that he can improve his jumper or increase his quickness, but I don't want to see him trying to get better in those two areas while playing for the Jazz. Even bench PGs are going to give him fits, not just starters.

I don't think we should have any fear about drafting another big men (unless it's overwhelmingly obvious they are BPA by a large margin).

Good point. Here are the names that I really like.

Bradley Beal- I would love to see a line up that included Beal, Burks and Hayward on the floor at the same time. I know that means no traditional PG on the floor but I think all three of these players are more than capable of defending and passing.

Jeremy Lamb- I love his fluid shot. He is not shooting at the high percentage that I would like to see but I think that he will come around and really be able to spread the floor.

Quincy Miller- See comments above. His disappearing act is worrisome but Hayward does that and I am getting used to that. J/K

Austin Rivers- He really intrigues me. I wish that he looked to get his teammates involved more. I hope that is something that can be improved on. I do really like that he seems to have that killer instinct. Maybe I am getting killer instinct and the willingness to make the tough play confused, but either way I like it.

Thoughts?
