Well, I guess as a Weber alum, I need to go ahead and defend my boy.
To be fair, his line against the 5 top 100 RPI teams Weber has faced hasn't been all that great.
@Cal
14/3/3 4/17 from the field 3/10 from 3. 3/4 at the line. Cal has the Gutierrez kid who's probably the best wing defender in college ball.
@BYU
15/2/10 (reb) 5/12 1/4 from 3 4/4 at the line. Weber never plays well in Provo. Never won there. Played only 31 minutes. Rebounds were high since it was the first game without Weber's top rebounder (Bullinger), so he picked up the slack, there. Decent line overall, but definitely below average
vsUM
21/4/5 4/15 2/7 from 3 11/12 from the line. Shot horribly. Still got 21 points on 15 shots. So he's still efficient.
vs. UtA
17/7/7 5/12 2/7 4/5 Not great percentages, but overall great line. Still 17 on 12 shot attempts. Was in foul trouble because of charges. Wouldn't let him get near the paint, hence the 7 assists.
@SMC
36/3/2 11/18 2/5 12/15 I save the best for last. 36 points on 18 shots is ridiculous.
So against the better competition, the percentages are down, but the efficiency remains. Lillard won't be targeted in the NBA like he is against Weber, and he should do well in the pick and roll (teams now for the most part double him, and our bigs aren't the most agile in the PnR).
Guess I could add up all the stats.
20.6 pt 5.4 reb 3.8 ast 39.2 FG% 30.0%3 3pt% 7.8/9.0 FTA/g 86.7 FT%
His year averages are pretty much the same except in percentages, and thus points. Rebounds are the same, assists the same, free throw attemps per game is slightly higher in the top 100 RPI games.
