Following potential 2012 draftees

A lot of PJ3 talk on here recently, so I thought I'd post some sophomore highlights of him for those who want to get a better feel for him.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMhOiRZqH1w

I'd be higher on him if he had developed into more of a SF, but I would still give him a long, hard look at #8, regardless.

On a side note, say we draft PJ3 and Marshall, and Jones is able to play a bit at the three...imagine a lineup of:

Marshall
Hayward
Jones III
Favors
Kanter

That would be one of the biggest lineups I've ever seen. It would be epic.

Wroten definitely has talent. But his shooting is just so god damn awful. And saying he's turnover prone would be an understatement. The biggest turn off, though, according to PKM is that he hasn't improved much over the years...that's a really bad sign in my book.

I saw Wroten on USA junior team and he looked amazing but since then I have soured on the kid. I saw him in the NIT and was shocked how bad he was. Besides the fact that I saw him literally dogging it on two plays. He didn't even run back on defense. I can tolerate weaknesses in a player's game but when he doesn't put forth any effort I have no use for them. His body language during the game showed me he was a head case. Now, the kid has talent but he is a major project and seems like a future knucklehead.

definitely exciting. What are the odds PJ3 can play SF at the next level? PKM?
I'll admit, I soured on PJ3 as a prospect last year. While I didn't watch very much Baylor Ball this year, I didn't hear about him having a significantly better year this year. What's the scoop?

I wouldn't touch wroten with a 10' pole. People complain about Marshall's shooting wroten is worse. I never saw a great first step.

I like miller but the kid has no hops. He hardly gets off the floor. None of the videos showed him breaking his guy down with the dribble. I dont even know about his defense not sure he will be able to play at the next level. Right now he is a spot up shooter. Now some of this is attributed to his injury but a higher risk then jones3

Jones3 is not a 3 he is a face up 4. He might be able to play spot minutes at the 3 ala millsap but he will play the 4. If he is draft there will have to be a trade but if he is drafted before the trade not sure what king of value we are going to get.

Wingspan for days. Ucla or ky? I think he will go to ucla and in two years their program will be hit hard with violations. The whole family is driving some amazing vehicles.

Hearing UCLA at every turn. Kid wants UK, dad wants UCLA ..

PJ3 could do about anything he wants, he could be that good .. but he won't. He'll be an above-average stretch 4 .. because he won't put in the effort or has the 'it' (or heart) to become a SF. He will under-perform his talent.

Wroten is the worst shooter of all timez.

That was my impression.
I'm still sour.

PJ 3 looks like he "could" develop into a Kevin Durant like player. But I've heard he has work ethic issues and will probably never develop the handle or shot Durant developed.

PJ 3 will probably end up being Marvin Williams....

I'm beginning to like Marshall... What about T jones from KU? Dude reminds me of Lamar Odom.

Just look! He's even left handed. Look at the handles and shot he has. Lamar Odom baby....

Hayward, T Jones, Favors, and Kanter would be one tough team to score against. They should also dominate the boards. Jones actually has a shot so he should be able to keep the defenses honest. Unlike Lamar and PJ3, T Jones has a good motor

Good timing .. just so happens the three players we're currently discussing.

T jones has on ok motor. There are times like pj3 that he coasts. He doesn't disappear as much as pj3 but pj3 has more talent. I said way back when that t jones was a lot like odom. With a 2 pick draft one of the picks should be a swing for the fences.

I am still hoping that Barnes some how falls to 8 and we get him.

If you've watched equal amounts of PJIII and Miller this season, and you think Miller has as much potential as Jones then I'm of the opinion that you're crazy. I know my dude PKM thinks Miller has elite potential but I'm seeing a spot up shooter that doesn't even do that all that well. Athletically PJIII is MILES ahead of Miller (queue the "bu bu bu but buttttt, he's still injured"). PJ's ceiling is peak NBA, Miller's isn't...............................................................................IMO.

I think that's all fair. While I think Miller is more athletic than he's showing (due to injury) he's still not all that athletic...all you have to do is go back and watch his high school highlights to see that. I'd take PJ3 over Miller, as well, at this point. Like you said, he has a higher ceiling, and is probably less of risk (though still risky).

Not totally sure where I stand on the Jones vs Jones debate...I'll have to think about it a lot more. I think it's closer than most will admit.

I honestly couldn't tell you who I would either. Are you a gambler? TJones is the safe bet and PJ is the potential homerun and potential strikeout looking.
