Following potential 2012 draftees

I am not trying to get into this anymore since the Tankers pick may not land with us. If justice is served and Utah gets the pick then I will be in here looking thru posts and asking questions of people like PKM, Spycam1, Weezur and Catchall.

Do not want to get mad at what the Jazz are missing out on.

Ugh. What I'm hearing is that he is what the Jazz are peddling and there are no takers.

Really? An expiring 20/10 PF who helped a rebuilding team make the playoffs with his clutch scoring has no takers?

Edit: I think Al had a better year overall than Pau Gasol, and he's several years younger.

So does Terrence Jones. There's also that French guy Fournier who looks like the SF equivalent of Rudy Fernandez, and there's Moe Harkless.

Don't really know anything about Fournier.

I'm hoping for either Miller or White. I also think there's a good chance one of them is our target, so hopefully this actually works out.

Just what I was told. I'm not making the decisions, fortunately.. though that would be a blast for a while. I do, at least, know how to say, 'sit your *** on the bench until you're ready to play D!!!'

I'm heading out to dinner and drinks in a few. Hoping for some info .. good news, preferrably. One of the guys that will be there is a Nike exec and he usually has some good stuff.

Thanks for posting, it's fun to get some info to speculate on.

A pick #14 – 16 could also be used as part of another trade. Especially if we were to purchase it for cash considerations.
#15 plus one of our expiring contracts, one of our bigs, Burks…how high do you think that could get us? Anyone think we’re targeting someone in the 6-8 range?

Buy a pick from Memphis. They are notoriously cheap.

I'll post quick stuff here and there. I'll goback and read/answer later. This is something that was just said. For now, I've heard we've talked to HOU, Cavs, Grizz, and one other that we haven't heard the name yet. Also was told we're asking about Jones, Jeff Taylor, and DMiller was brought up again.

Apparently HOU is still looking like the most likely option. This guy said the Cavs approached the Jazz with their lottery pick and one of their 2nd's for Favors and other consideration. Said Jazz said hell no.

Holy lol.

For those wanting to keep track.

Cavs have 3rd, 33rd, 34th picks
Houston has 14th, 16th
Memphis has 25th.

D Miller might be had at 25...

D Miller likely would be there at 25. That would probably be my ideal scenario. I think he's more NBA ready than any of the SF's to be had at 14-16 with higher upside.

Polished game, NBA-ready body, very good shooter from outside. I like him a lot. I think he could start for us (which is ironic, since he didn't even start at Kentucky).

Guess that means we like Favors more than Drummond. As we should.

Jeff Taylor could have an immediate impact like D-Miller.

Miller better athlete than Taylor.

4th team they were referring to is Detroit .. interesting .. not sure, off the top of my head, where they're picking.

Replace Favors with Al and we have a deal... LOL

They have the 9th pick.

Wonder what they would be interested in that we have...
