Following potential 2013 draftees

We need a PG. Burks isn't one.

There was once a well respected college bball coach who said:

"Give me high character guys that can all shoot, dribble, pass, rebound, and defend .. make them as tall/long as possible and positions be damned."

I really couldn't remember who it was, but he was an alright coach from memory...

College basketball is different than NBA basketball. Plus each year that guy's team was good was when he had PG's. This year he doesn't and his team is worse off.

I don't remember Ty Corbin coaching in college?

Right now where the point guards are projected, I don't think we will have a chance at Smart or MCW unless the Jazz or Warriors slip into the lottery. Trey Burke and C.J. McCollum could both potentially be there if the Jazz have a pick at #15, #16, #17, or #18 in that scenario Jazz take whichever player is BPA. If only one of the two is there and he is BPA the Jazz need to take him, if somehow the Jazz don't take a point guard with their first pick merely because he wasn't BPA or they were gone they definitely need to take one with the later of the two picks. Presumably Myck Kabongo or even B.J. Young, whichever one the Jazz have higher on their draft board.
Jazz will be in a position to come out with C.J. McCollum, Trey Burke, or Myck Kabongo, who knows maybe towards draft time and the Jazz have picks #19 and #20 or around there and they have Trey Burke or C.J. McCollum higher than Smart or MCW on their draft board and one of them are there and they pick them, that would be a successful draft. Just draft BPA, but make sure on of them is a point guard, more like BPGA at one pick and the other just pick BPA.
Bottom line, Jazz need to come out of the draft with a point guard and a BPA available pick, hopefully the point gaurd they choose was BPA at that pick.

Bro, for us older folks, can you may be use paragraphs? All I see is a blur!!

What about Isaiah Canaan? havent heard much talk about him, Would he be a good 2nd round pick?

Projected to go #26 right now on Nbadraft.net 2013 Mock Draft, projected to go #56 right now on Draftexpress 2013 Mock Draft, and #52 right now on Chad Ford's 2013 Big Board. It seems like his draft stock is all over the place, even though he plays for Murray State he could be worth a look if he was available with the Jazz second-round pick.

You're saying the result he's getting is contrary to what he believed to be true?

You are probably just taking it too literally. I view it more of him just saying the names themselves are meaningless. You still have to put together a team with complimentary skills sets and sizes.

I feel like the 2013 draft is going to be better than the 2012 draft but worse than the 2014 draft. This draft doesn't have a sure fire "franchise player" like last year (Anthony Davis), but it does have a lot better players in the range of 1-10 compared to last year. The 2014 draft is just going to be loaded, I feel pretty good going into this draft especially if the Jazz make the playoffs and get picks like #19 and #20 or something like that and come out with a point guard.
This is my 200th post by the way! :)

The premium on the first $5mm is about $25k, roughly. The NCAA funds that as a loan. Additional monies are typically insured at a lesser rate and the premium can be borrowed against future earnings .. Including first insurance premium .. Which makes getting more insurance a no-brainer.
