What's new

Following potential 2013 draftees

Wolters has great body control, balance and court awareness. He's actually a rare athlete in that regard. He's got some Steve Nash qualities in terms of his ability to score the ball. He's more of a multi-dimensional threat and skilled PG than Carter-Williams, tbh. My only question is whether he can play at NBA speed and deal with that level of pressure and physical play.

Not to mention he has a great left hand and uses it a lot.

Ca he play in a NBA system that doesn't have him dominating the ball on a flurry of pick n rolls?

I don't know, but he's shooting 50/40/81 as a primary offensive option. His assist numbers aren't bad. Clearly he's a better prospect that Jimmer was, which says what exactly I don't know.

I think Kellly Olynyck is also a bit underrated. He does things a lot of 7-footers can't do. Once he gets in the league he can get stronger and bulk up a bit. He might be an ideal big off the bench.

If the Jazz can't get Burke, I could see them wanting Olynyck and getting a PG like Wolters with their first-round picks. We have some good firepower and just need to put complementary players around them.

Clearly? Jimmer carried his team against some really good major conference teams and won. Wolters has done that against some, but not like Jimmer. If he can pull off an upset in the Tourney, or at least come close, I would consider spending the 2nd 1st on him.

Sounds good to me, I agree with that statement as well.

South Dakota St. two quality wins are #15 New Mexico and Montana (23-6 record), against NM Wolters had 28 points, 7 assists, and 5 rebounds and against Montana he had 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists.

Just got done watch Nate Wolters and I came away impressed. I certainly would take him over the Syracuse kid. I would definitely use the GS pick on him if Burke isn't available.

The kid has deceptive quickness, he knows how to play the game. I was worried about his athleticism and ability to guard smaller guards but I am not worried anymore. If the JackRabbits make any kind of run I think he will move up in the draft. What I also like is he isn't shoot first guy, he is looking to set up his team. He was able to get to the hoop and finish. There is no way this kid is there for the Jazz second round pick. He reminded me a little bit of Dragic.

Jimmer was an undersized shooting guard who couldn't defend anyone or get a step on anybody. Wolters is a big PG who can shoot, get to the rim and make plays for people. Big difference. Jimmer doesn't really have a position in the NBA.

Right now he is the first pick in the second-round on nbadraft.net, very easily could he get into the first-round.

I like him, but I think he stays about where he's at unless they win at least one game and he tears it up.
