What's new

Following potential 2013 draftees

Tonight;

Wiltjer - 7 three's 4rbs 2asts (played awesome)

Poythress - Beasting already .. 9/10 fg's, 4/5 ft's, 22pts, 5rbs, 1stl, 2blks

Noel - getting good really fast - 15pts, 7rbs, 4asts, 4stls, 1blk (he was everywhere)

WCS - 14pts, 4rbs, 2stls (played well, but well behind Noel)

Goodwin - better job playing PG today (but he's a SG) - 13pts, 3rbs, 3asts, 1stl, 1blk

EDIT: Kyle Wiltjer now leads the nation in 3pt% of those taking at least 4 attempts per game. 62.5%

Take this with a grain of salt at this point, but word from inside UK is that Ryan Harrow is crumbling under the pressure. I've been told he's proving to be too mentally weak for the extremely intense physical practices as well as the extreme intensity Calipari is pushing him for perfection. Small rumblings he may not 'make it' .. whatever that means.

FWIW, we go through this every year and every kid, so far, has pulled themselves up by their boot-straps .. we'll see if Ryan can do the same.

Tell him to transfer to Utah and we'll be more chill about everything.

PKM, I made mention of this in the Philly game thread but the Jazz are in desperate need of an energy player that is skilled. My thoughts are that they should be a wing player or a ball handler, but at this point anyone that can't be denied because of energy and skill is what we need. (The Jazz need MKG desperately but that is just a dream at this point)

Anyone see Marcus Smart play tonight against NC State? Completely dominated Lorenzo Brown who is a pretty well thought of prospect. Definitely worth keeping an eye on as a possible Jazz pg of the future.

Now I'm passed. I was watching the game but only got about 5 minutes into it.

OT: (2014)

Wiggins played a game in Kentucky yesterday. I normally would have gone but couldn't make it. I spoke with several key people that went to watch the game. One of the most fascinating quotes I heard was from an NBA scout. He said Wiggins is beginning to spoken of among scouts as likely having a career that will be in the same breath as the all-time greats ... challenging for best to ever played.

I know it's early, but I haven't heard that about any kid since Lebron. Anxious to see this kid in college next year and the NBA in two.

I feel bad for his brother.
