Following potential 2013 draftees

Jazz's ESPN mock draft:

#17 C J McCollum

Analysis: The Jazz have been in the market for a point guard for a while and had their sights set on both Jimmer Fredette and Damian Lillard in the last two drafts only to lose them both. I'm not sure if McCollum is a true point guard, but I'm also not sure the Jazz need one as both Gordon Hayward and Alec Burks can handle the ball. What they really want is another shooter, and McCollum shot 51 percent from 3-point range before going down with a season-ending foot injury. He's one of the most dynamic scorers in the draft and some scouts believe he could be this year's Lillard.

#21 Jeff Withey

Analysis: If the Jazz go small with their first pick, don't be surprised to see them go big with their second one. Al Jefferson will most likely leave over the summer and Derrick Favors would probably take over as the starting 5, but he'll need help. Withey isn't special on the offensive end, but he's a dominant shot blocker who stays out of foul trouble. They'll be able to find 15 minutes a night for him.

Oh, how embarrassing. It appears that somebody already suggested this very same scenario for the Jazz draft all the way back in January. See post 1857 for the 'Source' of Mr. Fords prediction.

I have been avoiding this thread, just wanted to continue fooling myself regarding the Jazz.

Today I was looking at what might be available for the Jazz at 12 and 25 range. Then I read the past few pages of this thread.

So Trey Burkes, or MCM? I haven't seen either play, honestly I don't know a thing about them except what is written on draft express, but it looks to me that C.J. McCollum is a Jazz man. Small School, under-recruited, long arms, creates his own shot, shoots alot of FTs, skinny as a rail, upset Duke in the Tournament. If that doesn't say 'Jazzman' I don't know what does. Really the only thing lacking is to discover he was raised by his single mom in Mississippi and he has a foundation for blind children.

Also, you can't escape the Jazz's ability to draft a player that is a duplicate of somebody on the roster. McCollum could be Burks younger and shorter brother. Burks could show him the ropes of how a sg learns to play pg in the jazz system while only playing every fourth game and then as a sg. It is destiny.

Speaking of destiny Jeff Withey at #25--let the jokes begin.

This?

Yea, thats it. I got a good chuckle out of it. No, I don't really believe that Chad Ford had any knoweldge of that post. Also, in retrospect, I was kind of pissy on January 2.

I'm not advocating for either guy. With new GM, 8 FA's, possible coaching changes, and now injury to Enes there is potential for big changes for the Jazz. I am not going to allow myself to fall in love with any player or even any draft pick position because I have no idea what they are going to do. This offseason could be wild.

anyone else see Jeff hornecek in Nate wolters?

I am still hoping the jazz get the 14th pick. McCollum will be there

and is ugli style similar to gangnam style?

I wouldn't compare Wolters to Hornacek. I'm not sure who I'd compare Wolters to. I once thought he looked like a slower whiter Jeremy Lin, but there isn't an obvious comparison I can come up with. I think he's a borderline starter at best, kind of like Dragic.

What's the word as to where Canaan is projected to get drafted, and if he is on the board for us in the second would you want the jazz to draft him?

Was projected as a late-first round pick midway through this year, now considered as a early second-round pick. If he is there in the secon-round when the Jazz pick I would be all for it.

hormacek 6-4 190 lbs

wolters 6-4 190 lbs

both gym rats. both 3pt specialist. horny was a second round pick. wolters will probably be a second round pick. both decent passers. both unauthentic but crafty with the dribble.

you are right they have nothing in common

Wolters is a point guard. Horny was a shooting guard.
