Following potential 2013 draftees

If someone decides to enter the draft and the deadline passes by, they can still choose to go back to school if they haven't hired an agent, right?

I think I remember that CJ Miles didn't have an agent, and he could have chose to go play for UT even after getting drafted, but could be wrong.

If they enter the draft and don't withdraw before the deadline, they're pretty much done. IF they don't get selected, at all, they can appeal to the NCAA and there is no guarantee they can return to college.. and they will most certainly be suspended games, at best.

That's why there's a deadline, btw.

Oh well, Austin's decision has no bearing on our #14 pick anyway... our #21 pick is neither here or there.. so it's not the end of the world.

As long as we pick Schroeder at #14 and BPA at #21 - I'm cool with that.

This draft is an abomination. What are these players thinking? Reminds me of the 2011 draft when everyone was going back because of the looming l/o. This just makes no sense. Weak draft and a chance for alot of the upside kids to get drafted much higher than they will next year and they run from theoppurtuniy? I don't get it.

I agree Austin did not excite me, but hopefully him going back does not slide some one we want up a spot.

My point is, as long as we've got our golden boy at #14, after that the talent level seems to level out a bit, so teams might start picking who they "need" rather than BPA - so the player we want might actually drop on our lap at #21 regardless.

Me neither. In a normal draft I get that a few kids want to go back, but this draft is so weak, and its not like the ones going back were borderline 2nd round picks. These guys are walking away from first round guaranteed money. PKM says that it is just a series of bad individual decisions. But the number and timing of it all makes me a skeptic. Only trouble is I don't see an angle for the draftees, the current NBA players, or the agents. Not one that makes enough sense to suggest it even in a miserable place like this.

So for #14, I like: McCollum/Adetokuobo/Schroeder/Olynyk/Caldwell-Pope

For #21, I like: Goodwin/Karasev/Dieng/Jean-Charles/Wolters/Larkin

In the 2nd round, I like: Norvel Pelle/Tim Hardaway Jr./Adonis Thomas/...and there are a bunch of international guys I know nothing about.
