Following potential 2013 draftees

"@nbadraftnet: Sources have indicated that the rumored promise to German PG Dennis Schroeder is with the Boston Celtics at the 16th pick."

Anyway I had a feeling it wasn't Jazz's style to give a "promise" to a potential draftee... hopefully we have some moves up our sleeves to still grab him though..

Can someone please explain the Schroeder hype. I'm being serious. His shot is a weakness, as if anyone is guarding him he can't get the shot off due to him having a glorified set shot. This explains why he's a good three point shooter and bad midrange shooter. As a pg he can not go left, so he can easily get trapped forcing him to get rid of the ball, and he can't finish at the rim, yes he's quick, but if he cant dribble with his left hand and can't finish at the rim, what good is it for him to be quick. He has major flaws that posters like kkk and pointgod seem to ignore. The more I study him the less I want him, and the more I see a second round pick in him.

easily swap picks with okc. then take Marion for #13.

okc can still get a solid big at 14 and then move up to 21 where the can get Larkin and solve their biggest issues.

jazz draft 12,13,29, and 32

Not sure that left hand thing is that much of an issue. If it was a real issue it would have already been blown up (ala Bazz not able to/ want to drive right).

The other deficiencies are akin to Tony Parker's when he was drafted (can't finish at the rim, can't shoot).

However I don't see a PG being able to dunk it as being my main priority. Moreover he has shown that his shot is not broken, he has a nice smooth stroke and has been stroking it pretty well all week during the Nike Hoop Summit, including practices and real game.

It's because the Jazz have already S&T Al and 14 to Boston for Rondo.

I could see the jazz doing this but they would have to sweeten the pot a bit more...

A top five protect 2014 first round pick might just doit!!

Just because Parker made those weaknesses strengths doesn't mean Shroeder automatically will, and way to completely write off the dribbling thing, again I'm waiting for someone to explain the hype. If he's so good why isn't he projected to go higher in the draft much like CJ AND Burke?
but then they'd have to give up an asset, yes?

Why would they do that for a 3rd string PG if they already have a starting PG with Rondo and a stud backup PG in Bradley?
wait, now your saying that Schroeder isn't that good?

Bradley was horrible this year, and it's its a long standing rumor that the Celtics would trade Rondo for the right deal.

- Well the dribbling thing is only what the commentator said, I have yet to see any problem with it.

The hype is due to:

- here is a guy who has all the physical attributes required to potentially become a great PG in the NBA. Moreover he seems to have the poise and composure to run the point from a mental stand point.

- He competed against 2 guys who are projected to be drafted in the lottery of next year's LOADED draft class. Yes granted they're still high schoolers, but it looks like Schroeder has the physical attributes required to match up with them (he looks considerably longer and just as quick as Hill for example).

- He isn't higher than Burke in the rankings because he is still a bit of an unknown. The Hoop Summit is 1 piece of information, guys like Burke and MCW and McCollum have a body of work to back up their legitimacy.

- I believe if Schroeder had play college bball last year, and really thrived the way Burke did, he probably would be right up there with Burke just because he's longer, and he's seems much quicker at changing gears.
