Following potential 2013 draftees

Just finished almost 9 hours of rubbing elbows with UK coaching staff (and all the '14 guys), lots of NBA FO.. scouts.. media.. Awesome time at Churchill Downs/Millionaires Row.

Voice is gone (my wife is thankful).

Will put my mock together tonight or tomorrow.

Noel, Len, Adams, Olynyk and Gobert are all bigs I could picture playing on a contending team.

McCollum, Goodwin, Rice Jr., Shabazz, Oladipo could play at this level too.

They're all tough, skilled athletes.

I'm actually starting to think this draft is a strong one, if you start from #4 onwards.

I think we've been saying that for a while now... starting with Cy.

Credits where credits due I guess.

I don't remember Hitchcock movies, but remember liking "Vertigo."

Watching the NBA Finals here, I really want skilled length and scorers: McCollum, Olynyk, Giannis

I think Giannis can eventually become like Chris Bosh with a shorter neck.

You're missing out if you enjoy classy, clever, suspense drama.

- Rope
- Dial M for murder
- Northwestern
- The Birds
etc, etc

All great classics.

Okay - I think it's going to be Schroeder (14), Giannis/Karasev/Bullock (21), and Jean-Charles/Goodwin/Southerland (46). I'm pumped.

I think the chance that Dallas takes Schroeder is in the 10% - 15% range.....unless they're taking him for another team (Boston or Milwaukee).

If we get Adams/Olynyk (14), Wolters (21), and Jean-Charles/Goodwin (46), I'm still pumped.

I like Gobert too, but I'm a bit worried about his foot speed.

If we trade #14, #21 and #46 to the Wolves to get McCollum (9) and Bullock (26) with the Wolves' picks, I'm still quite reasonably pumped.

Well that's certainly a strategy. Another strategy mentioned here earlier which I really like is trade #14 and #21 for OKC's #12 and #29.

Who says no?

It's likely they'll still be able to get either Gobert/Adams at #14 anyway, plus they get a better pick at #21.

We can get Schroeder at #12 and at least one of Bullock/Snell/Rice Jnr should still be around at #29. The talent between 25-35 is so flat there.

damnit hotttie triple k I want to be credited when you quote me. trading with okc was my idea.

... I am so awaiting a draft that has Schroe on the board and we take Olynyk.

.....or one with both Shabazz and Schroeder on the board, and we still take Olynyk. That would be pretty deflating. I don't think we'd do it though. With Lindsey, KOC, Sloan and Phil Johnson, that's a pretty solid braintrust.

I suspect you're right.

Hopefully there isn't too many cooks int he kitchen. The KOC, Sloan & Johnson crew hasn't had a very good drafting record have they?

I'd much prefer Lindsey to have the final say.

I'm not confident that OKC would do that trade with us. There's a difference between the player they get at #12 and the player they at #14, especially if Dallas keeps their pick and takes a big.

So about we trade #14, #21 and #46 to the T'wolves in return for their #9 and #26? We'd get McCollum or Shabazz at #9 and get Giannis, Bullock or Hardaway Jr. at #26.

Funny to think about but it would be a meltdown that would make the Hayward booing sound as though people were in church. I am not a big fan of Olynyk regardless.

No way the Wolves would do that. They definitely want Bazz or McCollum and they definitely won't be there at #14.

If OKC is looking at Gobert & Adams and are not bothered either way, they've got nothing to lose. We'll take Schroeder at #12. DAL could take Gobert, then OKC will simply pick off Adams.

I don't see a problem with that whatsoeva.

You're assuming OKC thinks Adams and Gobert are about equal. They're not. The other thing is that the Wolves want a SG with size, not McCollum. They might take Shabazz, but they reportedly really like KCP. So they would take KCP, move their second pick up from 26 to 21 and get a 2nd-round pick for their trouble. It's a good deal for them. Wolves fans were proposing this on their RealGM board.
