Following potential 2014 draftees

Slightly off topic but not really.. its crazy how all of a sudden Self and Kansas are on fire in recruiting..I know they got Henry on eyear but for the most part Kansas under Self gets good recruits but mostly guys in the 20's to the 50's who need a few years in college and arent big time nba propsects

This year they get Wiggins Selden and Embiid..rumor is now Lyle decomitted at Lville to join Alexander whos supposenly a Kansas lock and ive heard theyre the leader for Myler Turner and Kelly Oubre..

Yes, Self is on fire right now. I'm not buying the Lyles rumor. Alexander is a BEAST and, yes, I believe he ends up a Jayhawk. Not buying Turner but am hearing the same about Oubre.

Self has gotten his share of top recruits (Josh Selby was ranked top 5 by every recruiting service and #1 in a few)... but he's turned it up right now.

Hottest teams in recruiting right now seem to be;
Kentucky
Kansas
Arizona

And add Duke to next year's list

Where do you think Lyle and Turner end up?

Id agree with your list..Though UK is in danger of having a disappointing class by their standards in 14' but their still dominant recruiting everyone can have an off year and they still could get most of their targets dont want to speak too soon..

Duke is interesting..i remember after Barnes singed with UNC people said recruiting has passed coach K by and a few years later hes recruting as well as ever..i guess being on the usa team and geting co signed by alot of nba player has helped..

It's not the same as the "college experience" though... which I think is what these guys are after..... dorm rooms, poker night every night...... staying up late..... midnight ping pongs..... midnight ding dongs.....

What the **** are you talking about?

Made a couple calls...

1) UK will be fine in '14. They may not get the 5th straight #1 recruiting class, but it will be top 5.
2) I misspoke. I think Lyle and Alexander shock everyone and go to Illinois.... right now it's probably 50/50 between Kansas and Illini. They are a package deal and are both close with Snyder.

(at first I thought you were talking about Lyles, not Lyle. I think Lyles ends up at UK)

I did see that Jerry Meyer is predicting what you typed out.

Kansas to get Lyle, Oubre, Turner, Alexander. Not sure why Lyle would go to KU if Oubre does, though. Turner and Alexander could play alongside each other though..

with the second pick I am looking at Alex poythress. he can be a 3/4 off the bench. shot seems like he could play a stretch 4. if the jazz don't get Parker then poythress is a great get it the early 20s

pkm any word on James young? he is my outside hope if the jazz fall out of the top 7.

Haven't heard much yet. I am wanting to see how he does guarding Poythress. I am just leery of his strength. Love the shooting, rebounding, assists.. lefty.

Poythress is a bit of a tweener. He can play SF if he improves his handles.. that's what I am watching for this year and what I hear he is predominantly working on.

New GRIII video from DX. Anyone think he would he be a suitable consolation prize at SF if Parker can't be had?

Isnt Lyle a SG and Oubre a SF? Because i was thinking Brannen Grerne would be a roadblock for Oubre who will be a very good player by his sophmore year and the starting SF

With our pick, no. With Warriors pick, probably not.

As I see it, Hayward is/has turned(ing) into an SF and is exceeding at it. Would only see Wiggins or Parker as an upgrade if Hayward stayed in starting lineup and went to the 2 and we played a wing men approach.

We should always draft BPA available, so if GRIII is, then sure. If we have a situation where BPA isn't clear, I think we need a stretch 4, possibly another PG (seems to be a lot of good ones in this draft), or another 2 if Burks struggles and Hayward is playing the 3.

Consistent 3's and D's... can create off the dribble... team player...

If he can do all that, I think he's worth our GSW pick at the very least.
