What's new

Following potential 2014 draftees

Both have, admittedly, shown more fire than Wiggins.

While you sure hope that an incredibly gifted 18-year old prospect is already more developed and mature than someone in their 40's, I think it's foolish to assume that they are or SHOULD be. I think he has a little growing up to do, but my read on him is that his passiveness is more in the vein of a team-player taking his time and not wanting to hurt his team than a Lamar Odom ****-for-brains/heart.

If all three of Parker, Embiid, and Wiggins declare, I will be elated to get in the top three regardless of who the Jazz get. You can make a strong case for each that they'll wind up being the best pick in the draft.

Good post and I agree.
Only caveat is it is rare to see a player gain the fire necessary to be a #1 option.

Rarer than Wiggins pedigree, athleticism, size, instincts, skills, and maturity for his age? Environment will be big for him, as will time. Not to swing too hard off the Paul George comparison but he didn't seem to have much fire or be much of a competitor coming out of college and he took his time developing into the player and person he is now.

My post was not intended to be an indictment on AW... I was just making a general statement.
I am still at Wiggins #1.

Anyone else seeing Vonleh as a potential Chris Bosh type pro? Long & Rangy, can shoot the ball. Doesn't dominate but can be a good 2nd-3rd option on a GREAT team?

PKM, I know you hold Julius dear to your heart. Which team would you rather see him go to? Fit wise, personnel wise, etc,.

I don't know... I really don't. He'd be great for GSW because they can spread the floor and allow him to create off the dribble... but who doesn't benefit from that?

Call me bias but I think he would be great with the Jazz in this lineup:

Favors
Kanter
Randle
Hayward
Burke

Hear me out. You have more than enough 3pt shooting with Burke and Hayward on the floor. Plus Kanter can hit the 15 ft jumper if you needed him to. Both Hayward and Burke can handle the ball. Run pick and pop with Kanter, and pick and roll with Favors and Randle all day long. If the defense sag, then either Hayward or Burke will be waiting for the 3pt shot.

Long and athletic team with plenty of rebounds too and lots of fight and leaders on the floor.

I agree with all of this.

Over/under on how many people read on after the lineup.

stauskas could be the MIP. dude really is getting it. i still can see him fall to early 2nd. i also can see him staying 1 more year.

UK rolled Georgia today with evenly distributed scoring;
7
8
11
13
14
15
+ a few others

But the stat that jumped out to me is WCS with 6stls and 6blks.
