Following potential 2014 draftees

Gordon finished 23 and 8.

Also hit his two 3-point attempts. The fact that he has shown some ability to hit 3's gives me hope that he has legitimate offensive potential. Just has to keep developing his confidence in his offense.

Trading Kanter or Favors + #6 might get us to #4 with a lower pick coming back to us, assuming the team we're trading with isn't high on Exum or Randle. I don't think anyone will trade a top 3 pick.

That might work for us if the Jazz decide Kanter and Favors aren't great together and they don't want to carry both salary extensions.

Seems like Ty decided on this a long long time ago

Would anyone draft Marcus Smart and trade Trey Burke? Or does Trey have more upside?

No way would I trade Trey this early. If you draft Smart, and you want him to a be PG, then you let them compete to see who is better. When it becomes clear, then you trade the other.

Don't think it would be clear until a year or so though. Plus I think Smart can play SG, he has enough length and his strength will dissuade taller SG's from wanting to post him up.

Comparing him to yourself x2 is hardly proof of NBA potential.

I remember you being the first to really pimp him.

I agree we need Parker or Wiggins. But this franchise has proved they aren't willing to do what it takes to get a bottom 3 record (sitting players with suspicious injuries etc). We'll need some serious lottery lock.

I can also see the Jazz dangling Kanter in an attempt to move up and get Parker, which would be bawse, but idk if it's enough.

6th + Kanter + GS pick + GS 2017 pick for 3rd pick? Idk if that gets it done. The top 3 are potential franchise players.

Honestly I doubt any team would dangle a top3. There's maybe a 1% chance that the Bucks be like: Yo we don't like Embiid or whoever is left at 3, and since we are going to suck next year as well, we rather settle for Smart at 6 and eye Okafor next year. But I don't know. I don't think so. If the Bucks are smart they be like: Lol we got a backcourt with Wiggins and Giannis or play Giannis at 3, Parker at 4 and switch on defensive assignments depending on situation once Giannis adds muscle.
Just wanted to illustrate some possibilities.
I can see a team pass on Exum because their team is terrible at scouting foreigns but the college top3 aren't going to be handed out. That's a reason for a GM to get fired down the road even if it was the right decision at the time.

I just threw up in my mouth. Randle isn't worth moving up for, especially if it means trading Kanter to do it.

I'm all for drafting a PF/C, then using Kanter to grab a SF (Thaddeus Young pls).

I'm a big Thad fan, but I felt he was too slow to guard most SFs. Like him a lot as a stretch 4.

I thought it was a charge. Regardless, GO GET PARKER DL.

Maybe it was a charge. But watch 50 similar situations in the last possession of a game and you'll find 30 foul calls, 19 no calls and 1 charge. You usually don't want a charge to end the game unless it's super obvious. I can understand Boeheim's reaction even if it hurt his team. He understands that a potentially flawless season is less valuable than a bigger chance at a chip. And next time there's a questionable situation about Cuse at the end of the fourth ppl will remember his rant and that will influence decisions.

I don't like this talk about confidence unless it's a shootiong slump. Look Josh Smith has all the confidence in the world in his shot. Yet he always bricks. How's that?

Oh and I'm shocked none watched the UK game and the stellar performance of James Young in the OT. My underdog player was a real beast. was 2/4 in overtime 2/2 from charity land, collected a steal and a board defensively and missed the final attempt into Randle's hands to win the game!

we dont need exum.

we have burks. Pretty much the same type of player. Would only take exum to trade him out.

^^ quantity rarely gets it done, that might though. At the same time it is retarded to think they could save all those assets by losing just a few more games this year.

This is exactly how the Jazz should be looking at this.

They could just nab a good pick by losing a few games. Or win a few games and spend all your assets trying to get the same piece.

Lets hope they arent that retarded.
