Following potential 2014 draftees

You can be skinny and be strong. Lavine plays weak. He doesn't get to the foul line as much as some with his athletic ability should be able to.

So he would be a perfect jazz player. It seems like No one on our team gets to the FT line other than Alex Burke. Or is it Trey Burks? ;)

We have had our discussions about Gordon in the past. It's hilarious that CY focuses on the potential of Gordon while ignoring the potential of LaVine.

Gordon, while having enormous potential, also produces at a fairly high rate for the best team in the country.

LaVine, while also having a large amount of potential, does not produce at nearly as high of a rate, and comes off the bench for a good team.

Boy, this really is a tough one to figure out. Potential is awesome. Production is better. Potential + production is the best.

Gordon Hayward, the guy has gone 19 times the past two games. One of those games being against a top 5 defensive team.

I think Lavine can be really good. He's definitely a project though and probably wouldn't be able to contribute much in the NBA till like 5 years from now.

Yeah, I pretty much agree with this. I like the skills that LaVine has, but I just don't see him producing in the NBA for a couple years. He's rail-thin and plays out of control way too much. I'm still skeptical that he can run the point, but he does have some really nice skills. I just need to see more from him.

I think he would contribute immediately to a fast break team (rockets, lakers, warriors) or to a team with a young star. I'm not sure if there are more than 2-3 players faster than him in the entire league.

I doubt he will be ready to run any half court sets for a few years. He's a project, no doubt.

He can't even start for UCLA, but he can contribute immediately in the NBA.

Ok. That makes sense.

Lavine has a ton of potential, but he hasn't even realized enough of it to become consistent in college. I know that is exciting because it seems like a lot of potential, but it could end up being trash because he never figures out the basics and failed because he didn't spend enough time in school. I think for majority leaving school early is the best choice, but I feel like Lavine has yet to learn some of the basic stuff that isn't really taught as well on the NBA level that it can be in college.

Like I legitimately think Lavine would be a lottery pick in 2015 Draft if he stayed in school, but still don't want him in the 1st round of this draft. Not cuz I think this draft is super deep either, just think he will a quick burnout if he enters the NBA now.

Yeah, Gordon is more proven. Sure. If I'm a GM and drafting in the top 10, then yeah, I'll draft Gordon ahead of LaVine.

However, the nba favors quick and fast guards. It is a PG driven league. Let's check back in 3-5 years and see where we're at. I've been right on things like this before. In fact, hantlers tried a few weeks ago to bring up a thread in which I made predictions on the draft. I was 100 percent correct too on those predicted from that draft.

I've been completely sold on Gordon for some time. Drafting him #4 and on would be fine by me.

He'll defend 4 positions, rebound, he can score, create his own shot, high character guy...low risk, high reward guy. He will be a great pro.

Yeah, but in the NBA teams have players that can play better D, have more offensive skills, and play in transition. He wouldn't get much playing time at all before a significant period of development.

His jump shot doesn't look awful either. The exciting that his shot looks fixable, might never be, but there is hope he will eventually become a more complete offensive player.
