Following potential 2014 draftees

Hayward is 6'8" 220 and not particularly quick laterally. Definitely a SF.

I don't necessarily disagree with that position, but if that's how they felt then Richard Jefferson would not have played nearly as much as he did. Many were clamoring for the Core5 to play together, but Hayward and Burks played the same position. I'd be fine having Hayward play some 2 and 3 to provide better matchups, but that isn't how he's bend used lately.

I think I saw somewhere that Hayward played about 40% of his minutes at the 3. For his defense, I think he did bad helping the helper, but our whole team was bad at that.

at 23 the group I like

tj warren - I like his ability to score. he is a 3pt shot away from being a steal. defense worries me

cleanthony early - I think he could be a complete package kind of player but see him as a solid role player. question his ceiling. do you draft a solid role player in the first round.

Rodney hood - gives us that sweet shooting. I think he is a 3 not a 2. skinniness (if a word) and defense scare me. lack of rebounding too.

jerami grant - he is a 3 pt shot away from being a lotto pick. he is a gamble but if he works hard to get a shot he could be one of the top 10 players in this draft.

with the second round I would love to see the jazz get 2 draft and stash players.

one American player I like is joe Harris. one of the best shooters in the draft. at 6-6 has good size for a sg but small for a sf. I see solid role player potential.

inglis
taveres
micic
bogdonavic
klimenko
jokic
Larsen

would be happy with any of them.

Will GRIII be a feasible option at 23?

Elfrid Payton was born 12 or 13 days before Marcus Smart ;)

This. He's young for a junior, and honestly. . . after the potential of the lottery players, I think that age and experience start being counted as pros instead of cons. My personal opinion is that you're likely to get a productive player later on if he's proven he can play at a high level for an extended period of time. The more tape, the better in the scouting process.

Everyday. Realistically what more could you want than a solid role player that late?

I see him as A 3 and D guy. Like him at 23. Going to need someone like him.

Yup, all of this. Cleanthony should be well above average finishing in transition too. Theres some slight concern with the trajectory of his shot being alittle flat, and how it translates to NBA range but at 23 you cant complain as a Jazz fan. Its a fairly obvious match.

everything about this play is awesome, that was a blatant kick in the face.

Not sure where the bold prediction thread is, but I'll make one here ---

If the Jazz are bringing Tomic over, they'll move Favors to PF and strongly consider trading Kanter to Boston (6) or LA (7) for another lottery pick, which they would then use to draft either Smart or Gordon, with an outside chance of McBuckets.

If the Jazz do draft Smart or Exum, they'll strongly consider trading Trey to Sacramento for #8.

Another prediction -- if the Jazz don't take Vonleh at #5, look for them to take Kyle Anderson at #23 and call him a skilled combo-forward.

Trey could probably land #12.

Kanter could probably land #13.

In all honesty, Kanter isn't enough to get a top-7 pick and Trey isn't enough to get a top-8 pick.

ESPN's @chadfordinsider wrote Jazz aren't as high on Marcus Smart as some. I'm hearing rumblings that the same is true about Julius Randle.

So if the jazz arent high on smart or randle.... does that mean that outside of one of the top four dropping that the 5th pick is between vonleh and Gordon?? Is it a 2 man race?

I think Vonleh has always been >>> Randle. Even if Exum drops, I'm not so sure they'd take him at #5, especially since he refused to workout for Utah. I think the decision does come to Vonleh or Gordon.

Everybody is lying this time of year. The draft is a crapshoot, but if there is one thing we can count on is that Nba teams are full of crap leading up to the draft. Good to know the Jazz are actually high on Randle and Smart. I like both players.
