Following potential 2014 draftees

How did I not realize this before? The guy Smart shoved was kkk......it all makes sense now.

Nah, my hate for Smart began wayyyyy before that incident.

Well, different stage is one way of putting it. Maybe I'm missing some film others have seen, but there's, what, ~2 complete games against suspect competition and then some hoop summit games and U-19 stuff.

In those highlights I obviously see his potential along with his size. Yes, I see his first step. I also see a kid that doesn't seem to play above the rim and still gangly and awkward at times.

Give me 25-30+ games of known competition to watch him in a myriad of circumstances against competition I can quantify (hoop summit aside) and we'd all know a lot more about the kind of prospect he is. Can you argue that? I'm interested in having a real conversation so I'm open to being wrong.

There are obviously no guarantees but again, these college kids typically give us those 25-30 games to glean some valuable info and see them in multiple situations against that quantifiable competition.

Let's put it like this: I've seen all 9 of Exum's u19 games either live or on tape. So I'm familiar with that. I've watched the hoops summit that's more than an all star setting for me as for the internationals it's about establishing/solidifying their draft position. Then there's international's practices from the hoops summit and also the adidas eurocamp and adidas nations if I'm not mistaken.

I've seen Exum improve from these events and if it's too much of an hustle for you to spend some time on google you can also revisit dx's scouting report from last fall. There you have half a quarter of an hour on his strengths and the same amount on where he struggles.

I've seen a kid who has absolutely no muscle finishing in situations where he shouldn't be physically able to finish going right into real athletes chests, maintaining balance, switching hands/directions, showcasing more understanding of the game of basketball than Wiggins, Parker and Embiid combined.
He's reportedly got a mean streak that makes him practice hard and wanting to be competitive on the floor while not being a pain in the *** off the floor. So you can pretty much assume he's going to be coachable.
I've also seen his strong acceleration and court vision and I see an improving jump shot. So with all the question marks of the other kids as well I see his floor as 4th pick unless some weird general manager moves up in the draft.

I'd totally love him on Utah because that would give the Jazz versatile guard play and turn some of the other young guards into trade assets.

I bet he shot 100% FGs in those highlights and didn't even turn it over once. Also, I bet he shut down everybody he defended. No wonder you think he's going to be a star!

If you look at 12 min of dx footage then you know he hits 50% FGs and turns it over half the time...

Alright I'm convinced darft net is just trolling fan bases for giggles this year.

Parker back up to 1
Anderson is going at 5 to the Jazz now
Cleanthony Early has made a meteoric rise to 13

Kyle Anderson = UCLA -> LA fans right now don't watch the Lakers. Who's left? Bruins! -> more page hits -> more ad revenue
Cleanthony Early = fan's new secret fling after his Kentucky game. Hyping him now generates interest in his page as people who liked his game vs Kentucky will feel comfortable looking at this mock board.
Duke = Out of tournament. Duke has tons of fans in the country. As they can't watch more games due to Mercer and they'll be following his draft stock while he takes time to decide if he returns for a 2nd year.

-> attention whoring that brings home some cash.

61" is hard to believe.

he once held the world record for dunking on the highest hoop at 11-foot-7. if a 6ft 4 guy jumps that high then he should easily be able to dunk 13ft rim.

let's say his standing reach is 8ft 4. which is typical for 6ft 4 guy.

8ft 4
+
5ft 1 (61 inch)

13ft 5 inch

i have no idea what his standing reach is. i'm just assuming. trey burke's standing reach is 8ft 1 1/2. d wade who is 6ft 3 3/4 has 8ft 6 inch reach. let's say he has a 8ft 6 inch reach like wade and has 56 inch vert. his max vert reach would be 8ft 6 + 4 ft 8 inch = 13ft. very top of the backboard. something a 6ft 7 with long arm high jump athlete couldn't do.

i honestly don't even buy 52 inch vert claims by anybody except very few people(kadour ziani and few others) i need to see it to believe it. i don't believe randy moss or MJ's supposedly 48 inch vert either.

i was talking about Kadour whos 5'11" with the 61" vertical, which probably is an overinflated # as it would put his entire head over the rim, theres a good amount of people who say Kadour had an official jump of 60"

theres stories of Wilt Dunking on a 12' Hoop at Kansas, he claimed to have a 48" vertical

Kadour - man some of those dunks beat any of my fantasy dunks growing up. I saw about 10 dunks in the clip that would beat any dunk by an NBA player. Just amazing.

gotcha.

wilt's vert is most likely 38 inch max. that's as good as blake griffin's current vert. but anything 40+ inch is hard to believe.

this shot is probably the only shot that shows wilt's 35-38+ inch leaping ability

would take a chance on him tbh

How do you not trade down for this kid? He's showing an all NBA skillset here, something none of the other projects can claim. You don't just simply develop movement like this. You either have it and it grows or you don't and work hard at something you will never truly copy.

If we land the #1 then I hope the trade down to 3 and take him.

They're the top 2.

Right now I think Parker is better at creating his own shot. But Wiggins' game is better suited for the pros than college imo, so you might be right.

I just realized that I read your first comment wrong and I too agree that Parker has the least bust potential :P

well, there's also the case that we KNOW Wiggins is gonna be able to guard at least one (but probably two or three) positions, whereas I'm not SURE Jabari is gonna be able to guard anyone that well.
