Following potential 2015 draftees

It means we can't afford to offer MAX to 3 bigs.... both Favors and Gobert will demand MAX.

Thats too far down the road. We would have Towns for 4 seasons as a rookie. After which we could decide who to keep and who to trade. If we get a chance at Towns we take him.

We would have to give up too much IMO, it's just a realistic scenario.

If we're gonna give up that much why not make our roster more balanced and go get Russell?

How's his defense though? That is pretty key to Quin's system now too. You play the position you can guard in the NBA. Can he guard physical bigs?

I think he'll be decent at it. He's a lot stronger than Porz at least.

And not everyone needs to be a defensive stopper. Even Walt Perrin said recently that the team's defense is good, and they're looking for more scoring/shooting in the draft.

Averages a 1.5 blocks and a steal per game. Will struggle on pick and roll but will hold his own in the post.

I see no reason he couldn't be similar to Memo... Offensively he's very skilled... If he was great defensively he'd betaken in the top 3 picks in the draft... All the players at the bottom of the draft have warts.

Would like to see more of him, but I think he can be as good as anyone else we're selecting/range.
Size
Ball handling
Touch
Rebounding
Passing

all good for a 6'10 guy

If we can't get a stretch four he'd be a good guy to get I think. Would provide some additional skills in our front court.

Excellent.

That's my worry with Booker. If his shot is off, does he have much to fall back on at the next level?

I feel like when you're drafting a guy in the lottery, he/she should have at least 2 elite skills/attributes.

Most players in the NBA don't have 2 elite skills/attributes. I think those are pretty lofty goals for a lottery pick, especially a late lottery.

i might be thinking very hard on trey lyles. Jazz need a big who can psread the floor and Lyles can do that. He can also play some 3 in situations.

Then go after Justin anderson in the late first.

Has Sam Dekker been talked about??

Pretty good shooter, athletic, plays decent defense, smart. If anything, Wisconsin's system doesn't allow him to do all that he's capable of...I think he could be a pretty capable 3 and D player. He doesn't have the potential of a guy like Oubre, but I'd say he has a higher floor for sure! I think he's somebody the Jazz could/should look at drafting depending on how far down our lottery pick drops. He's a good player!

Not a fan. Hasn't really improved that much. Still can't handle the ball at all and has gotten worse at 3pt shooting every year.

I would argue that as we've learned with Hayward, shooting skills don't just go away. I think he'll thrive in the NBA. Ball handling skills are definitely an issue. Good post! Thanks for the reply!

Man, I'm watching the Spurs - Cavs game and the Spurs have so many good players. Their bench is Ginobili, Mills, Diaw, Bellineli, Cory Joseph, Bonner. Each with their own purpose. What is Diaw? Does he count as their passing big? Will Tomic play a similar role? Distributing from the elbow / middle of the key? Diaw is a bit of ballhandler though. He is just so unique. I want one.

Tomic's play making from the elbow would bring a different dynamic to the team. He would be best used like Marc Gasol, who goes through a series of checks and if all fail, will take the 15' jumper or back his defender down and throws up a hook (both reliable).
