We'd still lack a decent backup center in that lineup. Our weakness would be when both Favors & Gobert are in foul trouble.

I'm assuming that Tomic would be the backup center, and I think he'd be just fine paired with Favors. I think that a big rotation of Gobert, Favors, Tomic, Booker and Cooley/Motum would be more than adequate. I truly believe that Tomic could start for some teams. I don't see him as a PF though. Imo, he's a 5 in the NBA.

I guess I'm more sceptical than most with grabbing a 5 in Europe and automatically plugging him in the NBA and expecting him to contribute in a meaningful way... especially a 5 who is not very athletic such as Tomic.

Chad Ford's Mock draft is just plain dumb. Has Jazz taking Johnson at 12. He will not be there. Has the Jazz taking Okafor #1 if we win the lottery. I think Okafor would be fourth on Jazz board, but that's just me.

He goes off what his sources tell him... I bet many people feed him BS. Johnson won't get past 8. Only way he goes #4 is if there is an injury or Mudiay drops.

In a world where people are talking of a possible max contract for Kanter, Kaminsky is a top 10 pick. I cant believe that anyone is doubting that someone will take a chance on him somewhere in the top 10. Young, talented centers are the new stretch 4. . .

I'd probably be too IF he wouldn't come in as a 27/28 year old rookie, who has filled out his body and his game while in Spain. His only job is to give Rudy a meaningful break each game and has a game perfectly suited to what Quin Snyder wants to do. Plus, I think the Jazz will still play some small-ball with Favors at 5 and one of the other PFs (Booker/Cooley/Motum/etc.) at the 4. Right now, Cooley is the closest thing the Jazz have to a backup 5. Adding Tomic completely flips that.

Plus, he's had a lot of experience at the international level. Jazz need some of that experience. He makes up for his somewhat limited athleticism by being savvy and having an elite level passing game.

Yeah man. Thanks for the tip. I watched him last night and he was in on every play. Really stood out. I like him a lot.

I'm having some doubts about fit and whether we can get him over here. How many minutes are we going to play him? I'd be happy to pay him 5M per year and play him 15 minutes a night but would he accept those terms. He's a star over there... Again if he is willing he'd be a great asset to finally get over here... Just seems like many things will have to line up perfectly.

If we can't move up to get Johnson and Russell... I'm all for getting Frank Kaminsky. Whether or not we know if tomic is coming over. Anyone know if we can start negotiating with Tomic right now? He's not a free agent so I think we can have negotiations all throughout the draft process.

DX currently has him slotted in 2nd round right around where we pick... Think his stock will rise into the first round? I can see why people like him.
