Following potential 2015 draftees

We need specialists at this point. Defensive Centers or wing, Offensive centers (not fake ones like Kanter), 3 pt shooter, etc. Unless there is a bonafide guy to replace our current line up I want to build around the current core. The reason I'm focusing on specialists is because I have doubts we'll find someone better than our core in the 12-16 range. and we desperately need a defensive center or wing. Our defense is lacking, and the one area i think we can take the next level by improving. My focus will be on finding that stud, whether he is a big or guard who can add to this line up.

Damn, that looked impressive! His handle, his mobility, his touch, his up and under! They look great for a big man. Is he declaring for 2015? If he's 7'2'' and 215 he needs to add more than 15 pounds. 35 is more like it.

I don't think the Chinese Basketball rules have changed, which means it's not his choice. If he's really 18, he's probably 3 or 4 drafts out. His club and the CBA would have to release him.

I would easily take Qi or Zhelin whenever they do show up though where they are projected currently. They're probably way underrated by scouts due to Yi Jialian not being the Chinese Kevin Garnett that everybody was so sure of him being and him being older than they said he was.

According to Eurohoops.net Shane Kupperman and Bryson Graham of the Pelicans watched Vezenkov today(Kupperman is director of basketball operations for the Pelicans and Graham is a video coordinator and player development coach). Vezenkov finished with team high 16pts(6/10FG, 3/4 3PFG), as well as 4rbs and 2 ast in a win 83:80. In his previous game he had double-double 13 and 12. His team Aris is currently leading the league along with Panathinaikos without a loss. Vezenkov is averaging 15.5 and 8 and shooting 60% from 3 for the season so far.

This guys gonna be good, 90 grade or better.. for realz , remember the name (Pronounced Joe Chee), this is a story that being vastly under-reported, and seems kinda Chinese. I really really hope they're not lying about his age ('96), because it'd be 100x worse than the Danny Almonte story, dudes been obliterating these U16 and U18 tournaments for quite some time. He looks young for his age though, and he's Very tall 7'1-7'2 right now, and he could certainly still be growing.

Qi will need to play Center, so he wont be ready for some time, he needs to add at least 15lbs, not sure if hes really 215 right now, he's really one of the skinniest players i can remember, It looks like hes barely 200 lbs, he's probably in the 190's.

this prospect threw me for a loop, once i saw him dribbling the ball in the open court, shooting and running, I knew i had to watch everything.

I know ill be the only one on this ship, but id take him over Guven, no questions asked. Theyre gonna dub him the future of Chinese basketball / The next Yao Ming, hes a certain 1st rounder.

Zhou Qi will be a cash cow, for whomever drafts him, his presence alone will put millions of extra eyes on the team. The funny thing is he might end up really good, and really tough to stop in the paint, hes got plenty of advanced post moves already, hes got shooting touch, he blocks shots, hes got nice coordination for a 7'2 18 year old, his wingspan is massive, in the 7'5" range.

this dude puts up insane stats, hes really quite gifted and makes things look easy. In his first 3 games this season in the CBA his averages are the following;

29mpg, 14/16 fg's (87.5%), 14/20 ft's (70%), 9 rpg, 1.7 asts. 3 blks, 1 stl.

A skinnier Bender minus the passing? He's a bit taller than Bender though.

3+D big is like a unicorn and like a unicorn they would be magic. I thought Isaiah Austin had potential in that way. IIRC I was fascinated by Porzingis in that way before he withdrew from the draft last year.

I wonder how valuable Rasheed Wallace in his prime would be in todays game. He's the first name comes to my mind after reading your post.

Also, does anyone think that AD can develop his 3? His shooting is very good just inside of the three point line. I think he can do it if he wants but I'm not sure he should do or not.

I just want Sipahi to be good cuz there has yet to be an Albanian player in the NBA, and both of my parents were born in Kosovo (same as Kenan). Bums me out that the rest of the Former Yugoslavian republics are bringing forth blue-chip talents while the nation of my ancestry lags behind.
I know it's just Bleacher but I thought you'd like to read what they had to say about Kenan.

Unfortunately, things aren't going that well for now for Kenan. He's still trying to find his game and his team being a mess doesn't help much. I wish he was playing on a lower level team. Fener isn't the ideal team for a player like him, the pressure on the players is too much and he's clearly not ready to carry the huge responsibility. Plus he desperately needs a lot of minutes, especially considering his game style and character. He's a natural leader with a strong alpha character so he likes and wants to command players around him but he's just way too young to do that in Fenerbahçe which is full of big-ego players and lots of veterans.

But I'm still high on him. As long as he has that special passing ability with his great vision and great size, I'm almost sure that he will get drafted no matter what.

Damnit. I was really hoping not to see this thread all season long.

I love the draft, but I am still all in on our guys this year. Win or lose.

I think Bender is a much safer pick tbh, he looks like a natural, I think Bender is very low-risk, high upside, Qi's high-risk, high upside. scouts seem to have similar concerns about their love for the game, but im much less concerned with Bender's attitude, which in my opinion is totally overblown, the dudes 16, I give him the benefit of the doubt.

Qi's story is one of a guy who was so tall that everyone told him to play basketball. I try to give Qi the benefit of the doubt with his age, but if he was born in 1992 thats beyond bogus, its criminal type **** imo, I hate that thats my main concern with him.

His body is really transforming quickly.

Its really quite remarkable. that's not the Karl Towns we saw even at the McDonalds game.

Im glad i saw him when he was a bit more goofy looking in HS, those days appear long gone.

Okafor's big change in his body happened over the last 2-3 years(went from being fat, to being able to really run), I'd love to see Towns matchup vs him now, I'm sure he can stand his ground much better.

Do you think teams are definitely looking at him as a PF? I have a hard time believing that teams wouldn't want him to play C.

What do you make of the LaMarcus Aldridge comparisons?

Decent.

I think he's a stretch 5. lol

He's playing PF at UK thus far. He's going to be DYNAMITE in the PnR.

He will be exceptional running the offense from the FT line hitting cutters, open perimeter shooters, and hitting the 15 footer all day.. along with a PnR.
