Following potential 2015 draftees

Yeah saw that. If he does well I wonder if this could become a trend?

I think so, because it's more likely to be mutually beneficial and justifiable for Chinese teams. The Italian team that got Brandon Jennings probably wasn't happy with their deal. He was a bench player. Scored 5 pts/game. There aren't many 18/19 year old that could go and put up stats in Euroleague or even make a difference. So what's the point of even bringing those American kids over for a year before they jump to the NBA for Euro teams? Other than some PR benefits before it becomes old hat, It doesn't really do anything.

In China, however, it's a huge power play. A championship type move. Guangdong doesn't have any good guards and they still made the semi-finals. Mudiay should be featured, he'll be paired with Yi Jialian and they could legitimately win a championship. And he should be able to put up stats. Guangdong will be happy. 1.2 Mill well spent. And it could easily be the same scenario with 10 different guys every year.

Yah plus the Chinese are probably the kind of people who would pull out something as crazy as signing a young up and coming star like this, just for the publicity if nothing else.

How much do the highest paid players get paid in China? I mean, could the next obviously transcendent stud (Lebron) be offered one year, 10M?

Mudiay would have fit the European game way better. Stronger body, really strong slasher. Makes up for a lot of youthful mistakes.

But let's face it, he won't get more than 10 min. a game.

Well that totally depends.
There have been impact player at his age in European leagues. But you may be right. If he wanted max money out of that year he'd have warmed a bank for Madrid, Athens or whatever. There's smaller niche clubs who are great at player development where he would have seen 30 min a night at a $300k/year contract

Exactly.

Remember how many minutes Rubio got? Not many, if any.

Pretty sure PG_AB has posted this numerous times, but here goes.

Interesting points to note:

- Dirk lite?

- Notice how fast he gets up and down the floor (could probably easily beat some wings, HUGE strides). That'll be a nice fit in Quin's new offensive system where he emphasise getting down the floor and scoring quickly.

- 7 footer that can shoot? How do you guard that? Unstoppable.

- I would swap Kanter for him right now, if not just for the fact that he defends his heart out and has great defensive potential having that GREAT reach and quick feet.

This is not true. He got at age 16 19min/game in Euroleague play. And after finding that statline I'm already too bored to find his ACB stats.

Also note that even top players don't get more than 25/game in the teams. They work around having a deep lineup that's able to sustain injuries and play with high intensity 40min/game.

Where would you take him if he had entered the '14 draft?

I would have picked him before Smart & Vonleh, tbh. HUGE potential.
Tbh, I just don't know. I don't follow int'l.
probably around 10. Agree on his upside, but scoring 5.9pts and 2.7rbs in the ACB (in 15min) at 22 years old doesnt scream OMG!!! to me.
