I'd rather go after a young wing on a cheap contract and then use the cap savings to persuade Goran Dragic to sign as an UFA. I like the idea of a starting lineup of Gobert, Favors, Hayward, Burks (or the new wing) and Dragic and then adding another big to replace Kanter, Booker, Hood, Burks (or the new wing), Exum, Neto and Jingles off the bench. I don't think that there's a single PG on the trade market that's worth jacking up our cap flexibility moving forward, and I think that Utah can make they case that a starting group of Gobert, Favors, Hayward, Burks, Hood and another solid wing is one of the most exciting lineups for a starting PG to consider signing with. Especially if the Jazz are willing to pay a competitive price to get him.Brandon Knight's numbers are looking good as well.. and trending the right way. 45%fg, 40% from 3, 90% from the line. 5+ assists per game and 2/1 TO.
Jrue Holiday.. possibility?
And don't give up on Exum in year one. They need someone to pass the torch to after contracts expire and age catches up with them. Exum has star potential. A good team sees that out as far as possible.
