What's new

Following potential 2017 draftees...

I don't have a clue what to think of Josh Jackson as an NBA prospect. Good enough athlete and all around player to have a long career and help teams, but beyond that, I don't know what to think.

I think UNC is a pretty overrated team, so I'm not too high on Kentucky after they barely beat them. Great game tho.

Monk definitely has a place in the league, I just don't know how high you draft an undersized scoring 2. I still think his ceiling is 5th overall.

UNC is pretty good, their guards match up poorly with UK's tho. Tony Bradley is a legit 1st rd prospect and a major load on the offensive glass, he'd bring some of the offensive rebounding lost with Enes back to Utah.

Berry is a great college player. He and Hicks are both borderline draftable. They'll also improve on the wing when Pinson returns.

They benefited greatly from UK running the 3 guard today, frail *** Justin Jackson THOROUGHLY outplayed Briscoe.

Lots of damn good performances in the Euro u18 tournament today.. the Lithuania duo of Sedekirskis and Kulboka were great. Solid outing by team France, especially Sekou Doumboya, who's 15, and dropped 31 points on 10/11 shooting..

Turkey v Germany is about to tip off..

Jackpot scenario in this draft would be for Hartenstein to fall to the Jazz like Rodney Hood. He's potential to make $200MM. 10 quick points in the 1st q.

He projects in a way where he can be your backup C like Favors, so he's a great match with this roster IMO. He seems pretty much a bigger more athletic Henry Ellenson.

Looks like De'Anthony Melton is one of the best defensive G's in the country. Another gem for USC.. He seems to have a build and athleticism like Kris Dunn, probably even more hops.

RIght now Hartenstein is completely demolishing Turkey alone in the 4th quarter. Strong showing on both ends.

Yep I'm watching. He really does look like a lottery talent. At this point I think I'd trade both 1sts to secure him.

I'm definitely bumping him up in the next mock. He's got the talent to go like 9th or 10th imo.

I think he's a high risk high reward pick. I like that he's showing some passion at times, where he steps up his energy level a lot on both ends. On the other hand he sometimes vanishes, but that could be also be a byproduct of being a big at this level of competition.
Another aspect in his favor is that he's a high skill big like Towns, Dirk or Porzingis. He can put it on the floor without risking a shaqtin a fool appearance, he can shoot it, he sees the floor well.
Some team should draft him in the lottery because of his upside. Legit chance to be a top 5 guy when it's all said and done in any draft. Reasonably athletic, but I'd say more mobile/nimble than vertically imposing.

He's gonna test well vertically tho, for sure.

Tacko Fall has 18 on 5/5 fg's in the 1st half vs Miami(Ohio)

Edit; his career-high is 26 and he's got 25 with 17m to go and still hasn't missed a FG - 8/8

edit2; Career high 31

Both 1sts wouldn't even sniff top 10.

actually i see shades of nowitski in his game. I know likely comparison because they are both german but both have ok handles, Can shoot the 3 and are good passers

I wouldn't call him a good passer just yet. He's got potential, for now he forces it too much. Yesterday I watched him throw one of those Exum style hook the arm around the opponent passes, and bounced it right into the middle of the lane and it basically hita defender right in the nuts for a turnover/fastbreak.

Even with all the super productive players that have already surfaced in this class already, Jonathan Isaac can keep putting up relatively modest stats in comparison and still go higher than most all of em.

Thats just how talented he is. At 6'11" he uses those choppy steps you see from Rodney Hood. There are some traces of Porzingis in his game.
