Following potential 2017 draftees...

Here's one of the passes I'm talking about.. watching this live my initial reaction was "Karl Towns would throw that pass"

you see a nice lil pocket pass in this vid. If you watch him closely(as I've been doing) he does this stuff with more regularity than you'd think.. It's part of the reason why I made the Greg Monroe comparison weeks back.

Indiana won by 19 but this was a puzzling game for Thomas Bryant, who was held to 0 drebs... Rutgers grabbed 9 more boards in total..

Anunoby finished with 7 steals and a block...

Not sure how much you guys have been talking about Indiana's Thomas Bryant in this thread, but he looks to me like he'll be a better player than Derrick Favors. Real shooting touch (44% 3-pt%), real feel and footwork around the rim, plus a longer standing reach. He looks like he would be a mid first-round value-pick version of Karl Towns. I think he'd be a lottery pick in any other draft.

If teams think he'll be better than Favors or Towns-like they should be drafting him top 5 in any draft... not out of the lottery. People throw stuff like that so casually. Like Favors is some kind of scrub.

The grass is always greener come draft day

Obviously you're talking bout Bryant here but I've used the Towns comp too. I posted that I think Patton has the potential togo top-5 a few weeks back tho... (aka possibly a 96/100 or 98/100 type of grade..)

But yeah I agree with your comment, especially with Favors - his name unjustly gets dragged thru the mud (here and most everywhere else)

Patton, to me, seems like a tailor made fit to put next to Porzingis, once I start doing team needs on the mock wherever the Knicks land would be the absolute bottom of his draft range IMO.

FWIW - Favors was a super obvious high 90's grade - anyway you want to slice it.... (even in my personal rating system which is... unothodox).

Thats why his trade value was what it was so early...

It's strange that context is lost by so many.. My only plausible explanation would be just that people are forgetful...

Also as a reminder - The unorthodox part of my ratings is that despite my constantly comparing players from different classes, My ratings are all about how a player stacks up within the class. Also the likelihood of going #1 is a key factor Thats the only way I give a 100 (as I did with Wiggins and Towns).. all the tiers below including lottery picks and 1st rd picks have a weighted value as well.

Right now Fultz range is like in the 97-100 range Josh Jackson more like 96-98.

this a deep class. If favors coming out from GTECH in this class he would be maybe a top 10 pick.. So no he would not be drafted top 5 like your silly example trys to point out.

thing Is Phil Jackson Is picking for the Kicks and not you

It's highly probable that I would've taken Jordan Clarkson over Cleanthony Early.. It's also likely I would've taken Semaj Christon over Thanasis Antetokunmpo in that 2014 draft.. As far as I'm concerned Porzingis was a no-brainer -- and thats the intel he got from the Knicks main scout, so IDK how much credit can be given there -- I'd have obviously taken Porz..

I've been correctly picking players the Knicks should've drafted ahead of time for almost 15 years now.. Made a big stink about trading up for Westbrook.. Brook Lopez and Serge Ibaka(back when Serge was considered a 2nd rd talent by DX) when it was pretty much guaranteed they were taking Gallinari..

Chemizie Metu put in yeoman's work in a tough game vs Colorado today. 24 6boards and a steal on 11/14 fg's

Ugly shooting game for De'Anthony Melton but 9 boards a steal and a promising 6 assists!!

Dennis Smith is the truth. Didn't like him much when i saw early in the season, but he's growing on me and clearly a special talent.

Put 31, 8 and 6 on GTech today, but couldn't get any help and they go down at home.

There isn't one half-good reason why Dennis Smith is playing college ball this year. He should be in the NBA, he'd have been a lottery pick in the 2016 draft(even with the injury) and one of the best rookies in the league, easily top-5 ROY type.. It's bordering KD having to play at Texas levels of obscenity...

It's absurd that someone who's that "NBA ready" can't go and compete at the highest level when he's CLEARLY good enough.

Ball is getting a lot of hype near the top of the draft. I'm not sure how well his game translates to the NBA, where the game is faster and more physical.
