Following Potential 2018 Draftees

I think Sexton will be the better player of the two.

he is rated a much higher prospect and Sexton was doing a little of everything. He is the best PG prospect in this draft.

I am just desperate for basketball. I miss coaching so bad. I have considered taking a coaching gig over in india.

'18 is one of the weakest PG crops I have ever seen. Probably the weakest, period.
After last year's draft being very good.

The top of this draft and next are killer. Huge guys with complete skill sets.

Mitchell may end up at the 1 within a year or two. Exum may be a back-up combo if he doesn't show more.

Maybe, but I would still call the PG spot up in the air as it pertains to the long-term future. We will see what kind of RFA deal Dante gets and if Rubio actually works out.

True, all these guys are being evaluated. The Jazz have historically wanted shooting at the PG spot, and it appears Mitchell is a better shooter than Exum and Rubio. So just in terms of offensive production, a backcourt with Mitchell and Hood could be tempting. End of last year, Exum was really taking Alec Burks' minutes as a third guard and Quin often played Mack at the 1 instead of Exum. You're right that Exum has a lot to prove.

I guess I have more faith in exum then most.

I think the future of the guards for the jazz s in exum and Mitchell's hands. I was very excited to see how the fed off of each other in summer league.

I'm cautiously optimistic too, but I'm also wondering what the Jazz's ceiling is if Exum and Mitchell are the starting backcourt. Hopefully Exum pans out in a big way.

True they were still picked pretty high, but did a year of not playing organized basketball help them in their playing careers?

Did it hurt? Enes Kanter got a max contract. Dante Exum suffered, but that is more a function of tearing his ACL in his 2nd year. He had a relatively successful rookie year being a starter.

All signs point to sitting out a year, as long as your a top rated prospect, actually raises your stock.

Mitchell is measured as a true 7' with a 7'4 wingspan and top level athletic ability. I dont think him sitting out a year takes him out of the lottery, and best case, it actually raises his stock if some of the other top big man prospects struggle or get injured.
