Following Potential 2018 Draftees

Alright, here is my official What I Want the Jazz to do thing:

Either:
21 - Huerter
52 - Spellman if he's there (I doubt he is)

OR IF HUERTER ISN'T THERE

trade 21 and 52 to Philly for 26 and 38 (or 26, 39, and 60) for

26 - THE BIG RAGU
38 - SPELLMAN

I'd be surprised if DiVincenzo slipped past the Lakers at 25. That's probably the floor of his range. I think he'll go in the 15-25 range.

Terry Rozier took a while to become a decent shooter. Melton might do the same.
If a team is confident that he will put in the work to be a good offensive player then he could be perimeter Draymond Green. That’s something that comes way more from interviews, and talking to people than game tape though.

That kinda doesn't make sense, though. Draymond Green is who he is because he can guard five positions.

I also think this draft is all about 3+D wings, and there are plenty of players with better measurables AND shooting.

Spellman FTW. Threes, rebounding, and defense. Very short list of guys who can do all three at the 4:

1. AD.
2. Aminu (a little light on the rebounding).
3. Drawing a blank on another one.

Didn’t Spellman play the 5 in college? But now he’s gonna play the 4 in the quicker NBA?

For a guy with potential weight and conditioning issues, that raises a lot of concerns for me.

You’re asking questions beyond my armchair expertise. He’s listed as having played the 4 by Sports Reference, whatever that means.

Just because he played 5 in college doesn't mean he can't play 4 in the NBA.

Serious players tend to have more weight and conditioning issues before they hit the pros. From every single thing I've read, he is a serious, winning player.

At some point, you gotta decide you want to set yourself apart in a copycat league. I think a pairing with Gobert (and him as the backup 5) could challenge the conventional big/small lineup paradigm. And if all he does is give you spacing and muscle as a backup 5, that would be sick.

**** it. You sold me.

My dream draft is Troy Brown at 21 and Brandon McCoy at 52. Massive upside for both yet both possessing qualities now that makes me think they could maybe contribute some in year one. Do that and re-sign Exum on an overpaid 1/1 and call it a day.

Does anyone care to explain what any of that jargon means?

The +200 odds are what you would get paid on a $100 bet, it's called a money line, it places a weight on the favorite and underdog dynamic. If the number was -200 instead of plus, thats how much you'd hve to bet to win $100. These odds can be found as pillars of many different sports betting, you'll see them commonly displayed and talked about in boxing or horse racing.

Those are some serious fluctuations he's talking about, some heavy bets were made on PHX most likely.... going from basically 2:1 to even money to 3:1 in a short time.....

Basically at +330 They have Kawhi to the Suns... Thats about the odds the books had on Trump as the underdog for the presidency**** for months.

We owned Denver’s second rounder this year until we traded it for Shelvin Mack.

damn I think I’d be up for that. We get gortat as a legit backup 5 for a year. Move to 15. Is there any way we could then parlay that into moving up even more?

Can we renounce guys before the draft to create cap space?
