Following Potential 2018 Draftees

This draft is looking even better than the 2017 draft tbh.

Sent from my SM-G930P using JazzFanz mobile app

I have a theory thats probably gonna run true for many consecutive years.

Any draft classor HS+international class that is being hyped early for it's bigs, specifically if theres a handful of them at the top of the rankings, (for arguments sake lets just say they're legit bigs) is one to watch for this kind of "this class is way better than we expected" action, which can still be further amplified as we matriculate closer to draft day.. because simply it's so much easier to fill in the depth of the players 6'10 and below, it's much easier to give 'the field' the benefit of the doubt It's a scarcity thing... I swear I'm the only one who ever uses the word scarcity in basketball convo's, idk why, it's something of extreme importance...

So the next one of these is HS class of 2019 or the NBA draft of 2020, it's not the same as this year, this crop of bigs as a whole looks better... The top 3 players in the class all about 6'10. This class is also not considered that strong, so it's a perfect case study.

There's a way to 'read the tiers' of the draft and find low-hanging fruit..

Specifically tho back to this class. A player like Mo Bamba makes this very difficult to quantify, or even dangerous... I would be WAY less shocked if he went #1 then when Anthony Bennett did, not even close. When u watch this kid, he looks like a #1 pick, he looks to me like EASILY one of the best big's I've ever seen. I like him way better than Myles Turner...

Major upset alert on CBS right now, Hayward is somewhere with a big smile on his face...

#1 Nova is getting their food eaten on national tv by George Washington X-fer Paul Jorgenson of Butler.

I question whether Bagley can dominate inside like this against NBA athletes, but he should at least be able to roll to the rim somewhat close to what Amare Stoudemire did. He's got the hands, the length and the explosion.

In my mind I'd like to think I play PG like Jalen Brunson. The way he's got those lefty floaters in his bag, thats the way I attack, the angle of the shot doesn't matter, just need a clean window to get the release thru and it's an extremely high % shot..

I'm just repeating myself from last year so I'll stop, but, he really is the Anti-Trey Burke in oh so many ways..

Amare is the comp I really like. The absolute prime Amare year in Pheonix, I forgot exactly which one, I was in Highschool, he was the most unguardable player in the league that year because it was simple midrange is rock solid and if u stepped up too close, with any sort of momentum going into the lane he was unguardable, and he'd always have a full head of steam.. He had a master 'probing pg' in Nash, Bagley could use a similar style of PG, the way nash would go under the basket would be so deadly with Marvin's skillset, you'd score a ton of points 110ppg..

I also like Blake Griffin some too..

The one that absolutely kills me tho that I hear more often now that he's in college is Kevin Durant... which is atrocious.

To answer your question though: he can. and let me tell ya exactly why. In extreme high level basketball u get certain players to certain spots on the floor, like Kanter with that 15 foot baseline shot, or Zach Randolph on the block etc. and they can execute those actions with extreme efficiency over and over and over and over and over and over and over, thats what they do they are pro's...

Well, so why don't NBA teams just get those players to those spots on the floor and run the same damn thing over and over?!? (you see where this is going?) That type of offense in theory would parse out insane advanced statistics, it's not practical tho... and why isn't it practical?

because those players can't beat their man to those spots consistently is the answer... and that also is the beauty of MArvin Bagley... because he can.. Of any teenage bigman I've ever seen(and all of you have ever seen too, u can't cite a better example, there is none...) at this, he's far and away the best..

FSU is as long as the bucks and he grabbed 20 boards and made it look easy... Those are NBA level shotblockers he did that against. Ikey Obiagu is an NBA player and really good defender....

Marvin Bagley III is like a heat-seeking missile on a basketball court...

I sure as **** hope the Lakers snap out of their free fall. I don't want the Celtics to heist another top-5 pick.
I will never be a Celtics fan, but there's no question Ainge is among the top GM's in the league. Top team in the East, contender, even without their best player.

At this point, I'd take Trae Young with the number one. I don't care if I get roasted for saying that, but the kid is that special to me.

I can't wait to watch this kid play in college and see if he skills translates to NBA prospect. He's one of the most athletic high school kids I've ever seen.

Daniel Gafford will be listed as a C everywhere you look, but he might actually be able to play some PF next to Rudy IMO...

This is really something worth exploring.. They only list him at 234lbs and I know he was listed around 217 not long ago..

The Jazz won't cut him off the list of possible picks til extremely late in the process.. He's 6'11" and agile and explosive, and skilled, and 19... This is not all that complicated, his athletic grade is that of a top-20 player easily, of the players using the start of the season to 'show flashes' Gafford is actually right near the top of that list.

He's gonna be good.... This is a live body... Also another one of these live NBA body types is Dewan Huell at Miami, who's got probably the worst body language of any sophomore in the nation and simply won't be picked by Utah, he's got 1st rd talent tho.

I like Jaylen Hands at UCLA in the mid-late first round if he comes out this year. He's giving up minutes and touches to Aaron Holiday there, but he's got starter potential and can play well both on and off the ball, something we'll need next to Mitchell.
