Am sick of seeing shock-value/fear-mongering college basketball recruiting articles targeted directly at the most casual members of fanbases..
It's like the whole message behind the same article i see, over and over, is; "Someone who might give a **** could see this and then possibly we could trick them into caring again"... It just seems their cyclical in nature too, It's like the whole tone of the article is to plant a seed of future concern in the readers head(and nothing more)..
It's like ur listening to a puppet trying to channel what it thinks its master wants it to say... The editors are just as culpable as the writers for letting this **** pass..
I dont really consider that writitng tbh.. at that point your closer to a robot..
I always liked the quote;
"The news job isnt to inform you, it's to sell you"
some of this **** i just aint buying.. doesnt seem real to me..

to write a story like this after the Greg Brown commitment, it's just such a spin job...
I swear writers doing "way too early top-25 preseason rankings" get dumber and more formulaic by the year... they write their articles by looking at a depth chart, making up some values in their mind, like this;
and then completely ****ing sensationalize the loss of the outgoing seniors.. often downplaying the young talent and camping up how difficult it's gonna be for them --- though this behavior in its most concentrated form manifests itself in a massive over-hype sort of like the Cliff Alexander(Jahlil Okafor to a lesser degree) thing years back.. (Which of course compounds itself into under-hyping things that deserve it..). That very same year with Jah and Cliff Alexander... Ya boi was on here saying Ohio State's 2 man recruiting class(Kieta bates-diop and D'angelo russell) is actually way underrated.. If u actually looked back at the timeframe im speaking on, the things being written about d'angelo russell at that point were absurd... saying he had a loose handle, complete nonsense..
The thing about these articles is there's not even one moment where it's like the writer goes out to a ledge and makes a stand/point. Or if they do, it's that very moment where usually expose themselves as casuals trying to dress up the articles with their writing skillz.
Its worth pointing out too that bookies influence seems to inch closer day by day to the sports media world, with scott van pelt doing his bad beats, and just the lines being read on broadcasts more and more casually...
Can't help but think of the old Lupe Fiasco song "Dumb it down".. seems to be whats going on here.... These writers have no ****ing discernible style either, it's such a failure, the most unique words they put in their articles are literally their names...
and remmember bois lemme qualify myself real quick... I'm a HS dropout sitting here talking about how these articles targeted for college boys are ****ing dumb and predatory.... It shouldnt be so obvious to someone of my lesser education level... I dont think anyways... I guess its once again a matter of other ppl having pitifully low standards compared to mine, my point is tho that ****** reporters/writers pushing this garbage are infact the ones on the frontlines, entry-fragging, lowering the standards...
these writers are "unknowingly" fattening up the sheep to lead them to the slaughterhouse.. lets be real, 99% of em dont even realize it probably cuz their so far down the chain of command they'll write anything to get a few bucks..
Bro's these books dont make their $$$ off people like me, and their well aware of that. I drink their milkshake type ****..... they make them off the suckers these articles are targeted for... I dont type this to puff out my chest, just as a warning....
