Following Potential 2020 draftees

Aleksej Pokusevski looks like he might be able to the play the 2, 3 or 4 at the NBA level with a 7'3" wingspan, he could be like adding Kirilenko to Gobert - but a Kirilenko with better outside shooting. I'm intrigued. He can also play without the ball in his hands.

He can't guard on the perimeter is my fear. Terrible defensive low lights

I'm not sure I've seen those. But at 18, and with the ballhandling skills and length he has - I have to imagine perimeter defense can be taught. Also the 7'3" wingspan gives you more room for error.

He's a 4 in today's league -- e.g., Keith Van Horn. He'd probably be better off at this point if he didn't grow any more. I wouldn't expect him to defend like AK though.

This is KVH at age 20/21, btw:

Where Poku could be really interesting is playing at the top of the circle or out of the high post, like other skilled 7-footers have done. I'm thinking of Marc Gasol and Dirk Nowitzki as examples. His ability to make a pass, hit a mid-range jumper, or put the ball down and make a move going to the rim makes him interesting as a secondary initiator at 7-feet. Obviously Jokic does this too.

He's not a guy who is going to be dancing with the ball out on the floor at the NBA level. He can take a couple of dribbles and make a play, but most likely he'll be a spot-up shooter or mostly straight-line driver.

I have to think that the Jazz are really intrigued with Poku. The fact that he used to practice with Nigel Williams-Goss at Olympiakos might give them some inside scoop. To be able to get a talent like this outside of the top half of the 1st round has to be appealing.

holy ****... Bey got some serious bounce. Confirmed his good measurements too.

Does anybody know of a (free) site compiling 'combine' results right now? Sounds like Azubuike smashed it too. Think he'd be a good gamble for a lot of teams in the later 1st. Not a good fit here though.

Poku is definitely athletic and coordinated. I just dont know how good he is laterally or if he wants to play hard.
I’ll admit I’ve only seen highlights of the guy, and sure he’s athletic but nothing like KVH was and yes this dude looks lazy and clueless on defense from that vid you posted. Regardless, he fails in comparison as far as the total package of athleticism goes compared to KVH.
