Following Potential 2025 Draftees

Ainge pretty clearly cares a lot about charisma based on the selections of George and Cody Williams (who are extremely good speakers).

Based on this, I wouldn't be surprised if we picked Cedric Coward at 21 as he's been the most charismatic guy I've seen in any of the interviews.

Everyone else has been pretty robotic.

Obviously he has a huge advantage on these kids as he's two years older than a lot of them.

Fears has strong body language, but gives pretty boring answers.

Cooper Flagg may play a lot like Jimmy, but he has like negative charisma right now.

You really think he is doomed to be a bad defender?

Sincere thought, but I’ve seen your draft thoughts for prob a decade or so. And in that time you have almost always sold people on what you see, not what someone could infer COULD happen. Like, CMB could develop a reliable outside shot, but the info we have now is that he doesn’t have it.

So your thoughts on Tre are a bit strange to me this year. He loses dudes on defense like Brice did and why i disliked him that entire draft process. Tre has the tools but if he seems disinterested on defense and loses focus, concentration and his man (my words), why do you think he will turn into a plus defender against better athletes and more space?

All sincere questions.

Little bit of an aside but I think we all agree that Tre projects to be a better shooter than Keyonte. My question for everyone is, do we project Tre to be a better shooter than Brice? This season Brice shot 45.6% from the field and 42% from 3.

Well at 5 I think Johnson has the best chance of being an all-star. He has all the tools to be a great player and he has shown an elite ability to shoot. If he didn't pan out how we hope, he's still probably a great shooter.

I don't think he will be a plus defender. I just don't think he will be a terrible one.

It’s funny because I agree with a lot of this.

Watching DM again tonight honestly made me think of Tre. I think he can totally be an All-Star and put up huge numbers, but I see them coming very much in the same way as DM with the same flaws and not leading to ultimate high level winning basketball.

So maybe my expectations are unrealistic, but I hate the DM archetype, and I see a lot of that in Tre.

"Making players around you better" as a skill at its full display in this series. Cavs have better players around Donovan compared to the ones Pacers have around Haliburron. But Pacers role players outplaying the Cavs is what won them the series. Switch up Donovan/Hali and I think we will see a much different result with Mobley/Allen/Hunter/Garland delivering much better performances.
