Following Potential 2025 Draftees

I did not watch the game, but looks like Ace had a performance for all the doubters tonight in a loss. 6-17 shooting, 2FTA, and 1 rebound in 32 minutes.

Harper seemed to have a nice game though.

I think Ace is currently the highest risk/reward player in this draft. I can easily see a scenario where he is the best player in 5 years from now and one where he is not even in a starting lineup.

Harper has been consistently good when I watch him. I like his effort and talent on both ends of the floor. I think he's going to be very good.

VJ is. At least Ace is big.

it's funny - in two straight games he had a ceiling type game and a floor type game. after getting 10 rebs in the previous game, the 1 reb is concerning in a game where his team was outrebounded 46-27 including 14 offensive rebs for kennesaw. not a good sign especially for a guy whose motor has been questioned.

Edgecomb 4-15 against St Johns. Is he ever going to turn it around?
He should have done a "Dante Exum" and "worked on his game" and "prepared for the draft" away from competitive basketball. Would have been top 5 pick most likely. I guess he still might be, but...

Doing nothing/hiding can be really beneficial if you're a top prospect. I think Scoot hiding away in the GLeague really helped his stock. People were making the most insane excuses for his poor play and would have never done that if he played in college.

I actually think Ace has kind of a decent floor, he won't be out of the league bad. I think there's a handful of shot creators who aren't necessarily efficient like your Derozan, Ingram, Carmelo types. There are certainly outcomes where he's worse than those guys, but I think you get the idea of where I'm going.

His bad game also wasnt *that* bad. 17 shots with 17 points. Not the end of hte world.

I think his floor is a rotation player. He's tall and can shoot, so he'll continue to get chances.

If he puts it all together he could be a top 10 scorer in the league super max type player.

If he is a low motor guy who turns his defense on selectively, he is unlikely to ever become a rotation guy. Its either a starter/star or a bust.

My reasoning is that there are not many low effort 2nd unit players in the league, and all that I can think of (who arent true bigs) are either great shooters or great playmakers. If Ace is either he is almost automatically a star caliber guy.

Someone explain to me how the differences between Ace Bailey and GG Jackson are of kind rather than degree.

For the record, I’m not out on Ace Bailey and was only forced to be out on GG after he smoked a doobie in a locker room after a draft workout. The talent was obviously there but he still might not pan out.

You could be right. I don't have strong opinions about it at least.

I think you could argue degree, I'm not sure I see them as that different types of players right now.

I'm not sure I've seen GG do the step back mid range stuff as frequently as I've seen Ace, although I honestly don't remember GG's college film even though it hasn't been that long.

If the Jazz get a mid 1st-round pick from Minnesota, I'd have the Lithuanian kid at Illinois on the short list for it. His shooting is TBD, but otherwise he'd be a nice addition to the backcourt.

I've started to religiously go check out these Cashiggy videos every morning. I think they are kind of a must for any amateur draft nerd. It says they only have 1.8k youtube subscribers. That seems super low for the type of content they are putting out, although I'll admit that I don't know what a good number is.
