It's a sweepThey might be hungry for a playoff showing, given what happened last year. OKC is a beast of an opponent though. It could be a short series.

Right now I would be too, but the FOMO will get me. I'm pretty sure Ace is 100% the type of player Danny wants too, but we are going to get a straight smoke screen on Tre and I am going to eat it upCool. And I will be ecstatic that Ace fell to 5.
Except that the comparison makes no sense when you take time to think about how different the shooting profiles of Hawkins vs Johnson are.
It wasn't hard to guess Hawkins wouldn't translate. UConn's offense was dedicated to getting him open off screens and they haven't done that for him in New Orleans. He hasn't expanded his skill set at all, so he just a guy who is going to make the occasional 3 here and there (his open shooting is still good, he just can't make anything contested or off the dribble). And he can't guard well enough to stay on the floor and dictate that a team should feature him offensively. I think he shot something like 30% off the dribble his last year at UConn.
Johnson has a more complete shooting profile. The shooting will translate.
Yes, they aren’t beating OKC anyways.Memphis draft picks is lottery protected and Ja twisted his ankle in the first play in game.
Grizzlies haven't beaten a Western Conference playoff team since January. If you were a Grizzlies fan would you want to tank the last play in game to keep the pick?
Kas is elite because of his ability to hit step back/off the dribble 3. If he can hit it in the NBA it opens up all the other cool playmaking he can do.
I like De Larrea ok (I believe I was one of the first to bring him up in this thread), but Kas without the step back isn't quite as interesting.
If we pick fifth and Ace falls into our lap I’d be over the moon happy. My prediction is we pick 5th, Ace slides to us there, Jazz say that is who they wanted all along, and Jazzfanz has a meltdown.
I want no part of Kas. I don’t think he’s best player available at 5 and isn’t a position of need.Kas is elite because of his ability to hit step back/off the dribble 3. If he can hit it in the NBA it opens up all the other cool playmaking he can do.

It's perfectly reasonable to not like Kas, but I don't understand the position of need comment? The Jazz absolutely need what Kas theoretically can do.I want no part of Kas. I don’t think he’s best player available at 5 and isn’t a position of need.
I hate to say it but, ya probablyMemphis draft picks is lottery protected and Ja twisted his ankle in the first play in game.

Kas has the potential to pass people open. That's obviously if he hits his peak, but I don't think that's unreasonable.I think Podz is a good medium outcome for Kas.
Have a hard time believing we'd have a meltdown over that outcome. My prediction is we pick 5th, Ace slides to us there, Jazz say that is who they wanted all along, and Jazzfanz has a meltdown.
Which is what Collier did at an elite level as a rookie. It's perfectly reasonable to not like Kas, but I don't understand the position of need comment? The Jazz absolutely need what Kas theoretically can do.
Collier can't hit a jump shot currently. It would be awesome if he could develop that part of his game and become our pg of the future, but I'm not making decisions on our top pick based on Collier. The Jazz need someone who can both shoot and pass. Kas might also just be at a different level of table setting that elevates the whole offense.Which is what Collier did at an elite level as a rookie.
Absolutely. I wish he could either shoot or had a position in the NBA that I was confident he could defend, but I think he would be worth the risk at 21 for sure.I've been looking at Danny Wolf. Think he's worth the #21? Imagine him alongside Kesler and Lauri in the frontcourt.
I agree to a certain point, but we absolutely don’t need another player that plays no defense. It's perfectly reasonable to not like Kas, but I don't understand the position of need comment? The Jazz absolutely need what Kas theoretically can do.
I don’t see him as a guy that elevates a team. I think he’s too much risk. You should always take the upside with top 5 I don’t see it with him. Don’t think the Jazz should consider anyone outside of most everyone’s top 3 consensus and VJ, Tre, and KonCollier can't hit a jump shot currently.
