Following Potential Draftees - 2019 (not kidding)

When he gives any indication he wants to sign with Utah, sure.

With Harris we have rumors of interest from Harris.

We have nothing of the sort other than he is friends with Mitchell. If that's all it takes to sign free agents, then Utah will have any FA they want. Not the way it works though.
Was this even true or just some Locke word of mouth stuff?

Is there any tangible evidence of Tobias to Utah? I want him here more than any other realistic free agent, but I'm seriously asking...

I think it's back channel stuff... there is enough smoke there from locke, TJ, Larsens and others to believe it's true. It's like a lot of things though... I have buddies who we always say "we'd be interested in working together" on business stuff.... but none of it really happens until it happens ya know.

Mobile? Have you watched him play defense? The guy is an awful perimeter defender.

Being mobile and being a good perimeter defender are two different things. He is fluid and coordinated athletically. He's not a plodder. Much of his issue defensively imo is just that he doesn't seem as engaged on that end as he is on offense. He doesn't give it the same focus or effort level.

Nickeil-Alexander Walker crushed his workout for the Celtics this week, according to The Athletic. He might be in play for their pick at #14.

Just saw Minnysota (picks 11,43) had Coby White in for a private workout today. White is routinely projected at 6 thru 8. While it is not unheard of for lottery picks to workout for teams lower than their projection it is a bit unusual.

Curious to see if the new Minny GM does something to rash to put his stamp on the team.

He was in play for that pick before the workout. I've had him mocked to the Celtics at 14 for a while. I don't think he'll make it past like 18 at the lowest. After Morant/Garland/White there aren't a lot of PG options and there are a lot of teams in the late lottery/teens who could use one. Plus he's talented enough to go that high

A lot of mocks have him going to Orlando at 16, a team that's needed a young PG for years. I guess if the Magic get NAW, they'll be less likely to chase after D'Angelo Russell. Small benefit, I guess

Fultz must really be lighting it up there...

Seems to me that Miami might sell their pick if they can shed some salary so they can avoid the luxury.

#13 and Olynyk
for
#23 and Korver

Saves Miami over $10 million.

If we waive Favors, we still have enough money for a Russell max. If we absolutely knew Russell was coming, Olynyk and a 1st would be so awesome.

Korver only counts as 3.4M in salary unless you wait until FA that deal cant happen.

I wonder if Ty Jerome could be the pick. Great shooter, super high IQ, Jazz DNA™, Jazz think he's a point guard, great intangibles, winner at every level, a bit Brogdon-esque and the Jazz really liked him in the 2016 draft, one of the best pick and roll passers in the draft, Friends With Donovan Mitchell™

Everyone is friends with DM... dude gonna be president someday.

Not sure if this has already been mentioned but Tony Jones said yesterday during his Q and A on 'The Athletic' as well as on the Bill Riley show that Carsen Edwards probably had the most impressive workout so far.

Jazz need to draft for athleticism more than they do for shooting, so it's a big no for me on Jerome.

Wouldn't hate the Edwards pick, but I'd rather the Jazz get someone more defensively versatile.
