What's new

For all the fire Ty people:

but I would also add that he does develop his young players.

What does that mean though?
What has corbin done to devolop the young players specifically that other coaches would not have done.

I think 99 percent of coaches usually play thier lottery pick as much as corbin has in thier first 3 to 4 years

Many of teh players that get a lot more time don't become better players as a result, so your argument is a non sequitur.

Stoked offered more than I could name, but I would also add that he does develop his young players.

I think he develops them by a one size fits all pattern. I dont think the same approach works with every player. I think he is working well with Burks and Hayward but I am not sure that Kanter reacts the same way. Corbin gets onto Hayward and he takes it and learns from it. He goes off on Kanter and you see his head drop and his attitude suffers. Kanter appears to need a gentler, firmer hand.

What has Corbin not done to developed players outside the debunked many times over playing time myth?

Our players don't seem to have improved much either

Also.... many do

For the record the jazz are not firing corbin midseason. Not their style. After the season I believe the jazz will hire mike longabardi. Mike currently assists horny in phoenix but he has coached under tibs and rivers. He has excellent credentials but is not a former player and thus lacks name recognition.

These comments sound like they come from someone who has never played any team basketball. There's nothing like actual playing in a game to improve your ability as a basketball player. Sure you can improve your skills with practice but you need game time to teach yourself the game.

Corbin is more of an X's and O's coach, but you basketball illiterate fans just don't see it.
You've never played on a professional level or on a professional stage, so you just don't get it.

The only two people that have a shot at getting Coach C are these guys.

And you have i forgot about that start in the Allstar game you had last year

If he was a x and o coach wouldn't we have had more than one offensive play last season

This is so obvious that I'm amazed that some people don't understand

Fish, how much bias from your anger at Corbin not playing your guy plays into how much you think playing time matters? Are you sure that's not what this is really about for you?

No I have just found in life that I have always been better at things when I have actually done them.

I could watch people fish and then practice at home with a backyard swimming pool but I think I would get better faster fishing a river.

I played A LOT of basketball all of my life and I found that shooting in my backyard helped me get pretty good to a point.... actually playing in real games with scoreboards and refs helped even more though.

No matter if corbin played burks 48 minutes per game from day one I would still believe that playing time is better than not playing time..... and like I said, it seems extremely obvious to me.

If in fact players develop better by not playing then corbin is really screwing our youth up this year and he should stop playing our young guys so much

I get that for the average person, but when you're talking the best 300 of 6 billion people on earth it's a different story. The NBADL can't take the next 300 of 6 billion and turn many of them into even a bottom 300 of.. And the NBA can't take the best 51-300 of 6 billion and turn them into a top ten...

Franklin will say the most ridiculous things to justify his obsessive desire to support Corbin. Taking his logic to the extreme, we should just draft players and send them on missions for a couple of years so they can develop their understanding of the game watching NBA League Pass.
