Grasping at straws.
1. Of course. Poor play is always Corbin's fault.
2. Again, can you name a coach who played young, inexperienced players over productive, in-their-prime vets? Can you name a coach who did so when those vets were superior players? The FO builds the roster, not Ty.
Had Gordo started, he would have had fewer opportunities to make plays (with Al, Paul and Mo on the court). Yes, the defense would have improved, but Gordo's growth would have been stunted. He was put in an ideal situation to succeed (given his early struggles) AND take on more responsibility leading the second unit. I thought Ty handled Gordo's role very well last season. I would have like to see him get 2-4 more minutes per game, but that's a pretty minor gripe.
Examples?
Not only has Marvin been playing well, he's playing with energy. He's also only averaged 21 minutes per game, and has yet to hit 30 minutes in any single game. Mike Harris also started out the season playing well AND with energy. Yes, his play has declined, but Corbin has personalities to manage, and yanking people from the lineup entirely based on a couple poor performances is going to have a negative effect on individual and team play. Gobert's a late 1st round pick, widely thought to be a project, and is still averaging 11 minutes per game (he's played in 11 games). It's a tad early to be freaking out about his minutes.
