What's new

For those of you who don't like Jimmer...

Would you rather have Kemba or Jimmer? There basically the same player except Jimmer has more range while Kemba is more athletic and actually plays defense

Jimmer has the rare ability to create his own shot, whether that translates into the NBA is unknown, but his shooting ability will keep him in the league for many years.

I think it translates, the NBA is better about spacing and using screens than the NCAA.

I could see Jimmer getting 10 points a night just off curl plays, let alone any three balls he hits. Right now the Jazz miss that curl play because Hayward isn't yet particularly good at shooting while in motion.

Bro, please, PLEASE, do not reproduce. Thank you.

But tis okay for karl malone to reproduce with 13 year old girls right..I forgot thats the mormon way my bad i apologize

Don't we all know about Malone and his rigorous Mormon upbringing.

Karl is from the south, thats how they roll. In Ut the mo's prefer banging in their late teens and early 20's and planting their seed on their honeymoon. Get your facts straight glitterbug.

Wow. Archie and Trout are going to be pissed.

Anyway, Jimmer, once in the league, where the players are stronger, faster and more athletic, will hit that wall. Hard. And once he does, he'll have no idea what else to do except cry.

This is why I compare him to Reddick. Reddick also hit that wall and almost collapsed, but then fought through, figured out how to adjust to the rigors of the NBA, and is now a solid contributor. Jimmer willl likely go down the same path, but his more all-around game than Reddick may help him adjust. However I am afraid that some team will pick him up thinking he is a combo of Parker and Reddick somehow and expect more of him than he can actually do and he will therefore be broken before he can adjust.

You're doubtful.

Oh, wait......... wait, wait.

Your Mama's doubtful.

Ha.... take that argument. I win.

My go-to is "yer face..." then I can hit "yo mama" later if needs be.

So start with "yer face is doubtful"... then finish with "yo mama was doubtful when she had you"?

Thanks

My footwork needs some work, my passing is questionable, and I'm an insult tweener, but I'm teachable and a hard worker.
Hopefully I can improve on some of these things before the draft..... it might move me up a few spots to some guaranteed money.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to JazzSpazz again.

Harpring with no love for Jimmer tonight - thinks the guy can't play at the NBA level.

Thurl says take him with one of the lottery picks.

I could picture Jimmer coming off screens like nobody's business, but I think he'd play a 3rd guard role, like the Jazz forcibly tried to get Ronnie Price and Earl Watson to do.

If he's willing to be scrappy on defense, I could see him get by. As others have pointed out, it's not like PGs and half the SGs in this league play defense. It's not like D.Will is super quick laterally either. In fact, I think the Jazz used to like putting Fisher on bigger guards in order to try to get SGs to shoot low percentage shots.

I think the Jazz should try to replace Raja and Price through this draft.

These articles are both pre-Deron Williams trade. But still interesting. The writer compares Fredette to Nash and in the other article mentions Curry. I've also read elsewhere Fredette called a combination of Dwill and Curry.

The biggest knock on Fredette is defense. But it's also been the knock on Nash. And Nash was MVP. Fredette and Nash's college numbers (thru Fredette's Junior year) are nearly identical. Fredette's senior year numbers, as you all know, have increased a little bit. Seriously, with the Jazz' second lottery pick around 12 or 13, a guy who's game mirrors aspects of Nash, Curry, and Deron is a kinda nice. If player X doesn't last to that second lottery pick Fredette is a pretty soft place to land.

Im sorry but curry is and will always be twice the player jimmer is and slash will ever be. Curry carried davidson to big wins against big teams. Jimmer has beaten sdsu. Im sorry but not impressed and he shoots alot like melo. Curry usually had a greta percentage and has always had handles way above jimmers

Bill Walton gave Jimmer lots of love on ESPN radio today. He compared him to Bill Russell as being able to alter a basketball game.
