Boozer's contract was great. He would have fetched more than Okur in trades, and was the second best player on 3 50-win teams in a very competitive Western Conference. So Okur is the best free agent we've ever signed, right? Boozer's contract ended up being not great
Hard to predict the next couple years. Houston has been trying to dump players to sign a third star before re-upping Parsons, Boston may be looking to unload Rondo with Smart on board, Chicago may look to make a splash at some point, Golden State has some big, semi-productive pieces they may want to move, and the Clippers and Knicks are capped out.Help me see what team needs to use our cap space and is willing to give something good for it.
It's unlikely the current team with Gordo makes any real noise over the next 4 seasons. I'd take the risk and keep the space if I couldn't work a sign-and-trade. $16mm per year is just stupid for a role player.
