No you cant HAhaha, ********. Bruno Caboclo was one, but hes in the NBA now. i dare you to present that list of 10-15 players who can log minutes at SF/PF, please go for it.
Aminu is 6'10 hes longer than the average NBA PF, and a proficient rebounder whos logged heavy minutes at SF, plus he runs the floor very well and he was born in the 90's.
Here is a list of players that HAVE or are currently playing the 3 and the 4. They will switch between positions depending on what the other team is doing. This is the same reasoning that every dumb GM will do. "They are long and athletic and young..........You can't teach that." Well the fact is that teaching guys how to shoot isn't so easy.
Look at the list of players who switch between the 3 and the 4. The majority of them have an outside shot. So it keeps them on the court. He hasn't improved on anything besides his FG%. Which is great that he became smarter, but his outside shot and free throws......Horrible. And have been either worse or the same. That is not a good sign for any young player to not improve over 4 years of being in the league and getting plenty of opportunities to do so. The Pelicans were just saving face because they traded Chris Paul away and were hoping to develop Aminu. He isn't developing at all.
1 - Andrei Kirilenko
2 - Gerald Wallace
3 - Luol Deng
4 - Lamar Odom
5 - Paul Pierce
6 - Anthony Bennett
7 - Shawn Marion
8 - Josh Smith
9 - Draymond Green
10 - Wes Johnson
12 - Tayshaun Prince
13 - Michael Beasley
14 - Shane Battier
15 - Rashard Lewis
16 - Khris Middleton
17 - Metta World Peace
18 - Kevin Durant
19 - Tobias Harris
20 - Aaron Gordon
21 - Thaddeus Young
22 - Markieff Morris
23 - Marcus Morris
24 - Kawhi Leonard
25 - Boris Diaw
26 - Derrick Williams
27 - Marvin Williams
28 - Ryan Anderson
29 - NOVAK
This list is much longer if you keep going back to retired players. They are everywhere. But the successful ones can shoot.
Here is a list of players who are no longer in the league or barely holding on...... who could play the 3 and the 4 but could not shoot. Proto typical Aminu players.
1 - Darius Miles (He was a bust even before his injury)
2 - Rodney White
3 - Jared Jeffries (Bust for sure. He could play some defense here and there. But his lack of shot kept him off the court)
4 - Travis Outlaw
5 - Hakim Warrick
7 - Dominic McGuire
8 - Joe Alexander (BUST)
9 - Earl Clark (BUST)
10 - James Johnson (BUST)
11 - Derrick Williams (BUST)
12 - Royce White (More of a mental problem then a game issue. But he did not have an outside shot and could play 3 or 4).
This is only off the top of my head. These guys are very hard to keep on the floor. Now if Aminu had just a decent mid range shot and dependable. He could be a great back up for some team. For us??? No it doesn't fit because we need more shooting. Right now we are bad with shooting but need to have our young guys develop. Continue to let Burks, Burke, Exum improve the outside shot. Maybe Hayward too. But we don't need Aminu as this next year is about development. And he would only hinder our current players who have much brighter futures then Aminu.
You said list 10-15 who could play the 3 and the 4. I listed over 45 total and broke them up between what works and what does not.
I really hope Aminu develops a shot. He could become a very good role player. But I am tired of hearing about wingspans and athleticism when you can't even shoot a freaking basketball. Its the prototypical reason why players bust.
