Free Agent Rumors Thread

Nice to know you discredit all the sources despite the records of some of those sources such as Yahoo and WOJ.

Willfully ignorant.

I remembered Jody Genessy repeatedly said that Jim Boylen was the frontrunner for the Jazz coaching job.

I stopped following him after that.

You should re-follow, jazz are clearly using Jody to spread disinformation. Lindsey uses the media to try to get an advantage.

DL always seems to be scheming. I really really hope the Hornets are scared they won't get him and they call DL and ask to figure out a trade.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are pursuing Ray Allen and Mike Miller, according to sources. David Aldridge reports that the Cavaliers are also interested in James Jones.

Allen has been widely expected to remain teammates with LeBron James.

Miller signed with the Miami Heat in 2010 and is one of James' closest friends in the NBA.

The Cavaliers are pursuing a max contract deal with James.

Adrian Wojnarowski reports that James reached out to two veteran free agents about joining him if he leave the Heat, with Miller being one of them.

This is HUGE because the Heat cut Miller to avoid tax penalties. It did not sit well with Lebron.
Cavs could offer LBJ around $20M and still have $4M left for other FA's. However, I believe they have to renounce all their exceptions to get there, leaving them with just the "Room Mid-Level" which is $2.7M. So Cavs could fit James and two of his BFF's if Miller, Jones and/or Allen want to play for that amount.

The RFA designation has to change.
All it does is make everyone overpay for players.
How is that good?
How does that control costs?

Teams overpay for UFA's too. We'd be bidding against the same teams. The only difference is that it gives teams a chance to retain their player.
It's not intended to control costs; it's intended to cut down on player movement.
