It looks a lot better but is still at just 30% in SL so far. Can Aminu shoot the 3 that well (i.e., that poorly)?

If he can come in defensively and get a stop at the end if the game, I don't care. They need a cheap defensive wing. Short term contract - one or two years. Fine. Aminu, Ebanks. Doesn't matter. They just need that guy to fill out the roster. He's not going to be getting time over Hayward and Hood, but it would be nice to have a guy if they need one. That's the main reason I'd be fine with Aminu. Coach Q. And company can work on the shot, but the only thing I'm looking for out of him is that perimeter defense.

I do like Aminu better than Ebanks, but the contract is key. Don't want to lock into a long term deal with so many assets still in play.

Jazz signed Trevor Booker?

Yes they did and Jazzfanz has an entire thread about it, so don't be an idiot (like me) and post about it in this thread.

What do you think of Amath M'Baye?? Apparently the Spurs like him and almost drafted him last year, he left early as a JR, and played in the Japanese Leagues last season.

Hes went to OU and Kanter's High School, Stoneridge Prep. 24 years old, 6'9, 6'11 wingspan, 215lbs.

Looks like he can shoot... and handle some.. and those dunks..

Yea, I certainly think Amath M'Baye is worthy of a camp invite considering the scrubs the Jazz have on their summer league team. Send him to the dleague for development.

Would you rather have him or Ebanks or Aminu?

Am I the only one that is still worried about the SF position? Here's how I see our team right now:

PG - Burke, Exum, Lucas
SG - Hayward, Burks, Exum
SF - ???, Hood, Hayward
PF - Kanter, Booker, Novak, Evans
C - Favors, Gobert

That's 12 people right now, and I know a lot of people are all over Burks at SG, but I'm not.

Hayward had better PER, and similar advanced stats across the board as Burks going against better competition and being the focus of the defense, while Burks was able to come in and take advantage of the other team's bench and not be keyed on defensively.

I like Hayward as a 16 million per year SG a lot better than as a SF.

If you run Burke and Exum at PG, and Hayward and Burks at SG, you are pretty solid. But that means you no longer have a starting SF.

So, the question at the end of all my blabbering is this:

Is there a SF worth giving minutes to available? Marvin would have been perfect for us this year.

I don't see a huge problem. I see Burke, Exum, and Burks as a three man guard rotation, and Hayward and Hood as a two person SF rotation.

Not at $7 million per year. I like Marvin, but not at that salary. I don't disagree with your analysis. I'd feel better about things if they knew for sure that it was better to play Burks off the bench and keep Hayward at SF. With that said, I don't think that's the case. I don't think that you can count on Hood yet, but I could see him get some pt at the 3 with Hayward and Exum in the backfield (that's a long 1-2-3). I think that you probably see Burke, Burks, Hayward, Kanter and Favors as the starters to begin the year and adjustments can be made as Gobert, Hood and Exum get more experience.

I guess I am not as high on Burks as a starter and Hayward as a starting SF. I think that's a downgrade from our starting SG and SF from last year.

Again, I'm not nearly as high on Burks as everyone around here is. I think Hayward is a much better starting SG than Burks and I think Hayward is a very, very good starting SG in the NBA and a very mediocre SF.

Well tbh I might prefer Michael Beasley over all of them, but without him and considering the Booker signing, my list (In-order) as of todays SL performances at SF looks like;

Aminu
Devin Ebanks, Francisco Garcia,
M'Baye, Tyler Honeycutt, Ronald Roberts Jr.

(I think Malcolm Thomas is about on par with the 3rd line players, I'm waiting to see who separates themselves in SL)

I'd also see what the Spurs would ask for Austin Daye, I think hes a great match with this roster.
